Because in 10.11 the caps lock key gets stuck and the OP wants to know if it is fixed in 10.11.1. :D
You laugh, but for the longest time in the 10.5 and 10.6 days I couldn't name a file with an "F" in it. So pressing "F" in Finder was out of the question. Can't remember what exactly it would do—either close out of the naming window, stop the renaming process, or maybe freeze up briefly. But each time I could never get an "F" into a file name. Unfortunately for school I often had to turn in design assignments with the current semester in the file name, so it would be like "Project-Name_Duke_Fall-08 or something like that. So I always had to go find an "F", and copy and paste it. Was so weird and I would forget about it nearly every time.

10.11.1 fixed Office for me but broke Preview. It was the first time Preview had worked for me in literally years, but now it crashes all the time.

i see this complaining about 'preview' everywhere on this forum... why is this used for anyway?

Preview? It comes built into the OS, you can use it to view PDFs and images and stuff. I use it for PDFs.

I don't know where you are, but it is Vorschau in German OS X, so I guess it is one of the apps that gets its name changed for different countries.

Wait, aren't broadband unlimited anyway? I thought it's only mobile plans that cap data usage.

no in the UK broadband isn't always unlimited, I think some USA ips are the same.
My mi-fi is mobile data but I get 55mb DL on 4G but its capped at 50GB

oh yes that thing... it sucks monkeyballs I use an app called 'skim' to work with PDFs, it's much better (but a little slow).

the search on the preview is just abysmal so it's basicaly useless for what I need.

cheers.

Hoping it fixes Time Machine..only glitch I've got with El Capitan..working very well on everything else :)

I've been hit by one of those random UserEventAgent running wild and hitting 99% CPU usage.

Also, the audio cutting out issue from Yosemite still continues. I've seen this bug in three Macs - audio will simply cut out and only work again if you hit a volume key.

One of the first forums where people don't have problems with El Capitan. I'm on Yosemite and still afraid about upgrading because I am not a computer person and don't know how to deal with eventual problems after/during installation.

I waited for 10.11.1 It installed smoothly and flawlessly and after 8 hours of usage I've seen zero flaws.

is it best closing all programs before updating.

Do you need a power cable? if your Mac has >75% battery?

thanks

People are still having problems on 10.11.1 with Time Machine not running. Seems to be another problem that doesn't effect everyone and is solved only by learning the secret "fix my OS" dance. If you depend on TM (which you shouldn't, but that's another discussion) I'd hold off until this problem is fixed.

One mac won't even connect to the app store and my other is stuck in a seemingly endless updating your mail database

Not impressed at all with al crapitan . Sorry but my faith in Apple died along with Steve.
Then Window is your option.

Anybody know if it fixes the problem where Finder won't connect to WD "Cloud" drives?

mac works perfectly no problems at all,, should I update to 10.11.1?

mail etc whatever problems are there I never use those apps...is 10.11.1 faster and more stable?

should I update?
Yes.

Here's the thing.. Upgrade *always*. It's *always* better to upgrade to the release versions. Period.

Same here. Downloaded 10.10.1 the day it released. Haven't had any trouble. Stuff seems quicker, especially Safari. Great upgrade.

can you point me to where that first sentence would help me make my mind up to hold off upgrading. thanks

ps
why shouldn't I depend on TM with USB drive off site TM connected backup?
