I hate the fact that the new iPad Pro's don't have smart covers...the smart case is horrible.
I am 100% with you on this one. I have a 2017 10.5" iPad Pro and love my Smart Cover. I am looking to upgrade to the 2021 iPad Pro 11" and would love to get a similar Smart Cover for the new device, but Apple only makes the folio case and there are no 3rd parties offering one. So I can only assume that the magnet position on the new iPad Pros 2018 onwards do not have the magnets in the same place. Perhaps someone on here could confirm this for me please?

I would just replace the battery, here in the UK £99 for a replacement at Apple.

That's a lot cheaper than £600 for a used 2018 even with Magic Keyboard.

Depends how much cash you have to burn and how much you care about things like Face ID.

Hello,

Looking for advice on how to handle this. I have a 2017 iPP 10.5 that I use primarily as a consumption device. Reading, Youtube, movies, web browsing, messaging. Its treated me very good. However I have 2 problems.
1. The battery is shot. It lasts..maybe 3 hours.
2. My smart keyboard is not working. And it is outside warranty.

I am wondering - what should I do? Should I go for the 11 inch 2020 iPP with Magic Keyboard? How is the Ipad Air? Has it surpassed my 2017 iPP? Should I keep my iPP 10.5 and just pay for new battery and new keyboard?

Thanks
I have the very same ipad. Bought from new when it came out. It gets heavy use by me and its a work horse, i love it. The battery on mine seems fine. I have no real issues, i would just love a an ipad with more ooomph!

I personally have been saving for a 12.9 ipad as I know i would love it. I really enjoy the pro features so I would always go for a pro.

The 10.5 pro has been great and will continue to be great for a few more years I hope.
I would say since you enjoy using your ipad and the battery is on the way out and if you can afford it.. go for it.

I treated myself to the 1tb 12.9 but you needn’t go that far (i shelled out £1700, yikes!). If you arent bothered about the mini led screen you could go for the 11”. I'm sure you will be delighted.

happy ipadding! ;)

I’m in the same boat as you and I opted for the new 12.9. My thinking is if I’m going to spend a lot of money I might as well get the latest
