I left my MacBooks on for months at a time. Maybe turned off during transportation or if I was going to be away for a while. Restarts whenever an update came down.

My mini is turned off when I go to work for the day. Since there’s no battery and we have electricity outages every now and then, I don’t want to risk anything happening all of a sudden. Maybe it’s not as risky with SSDs now.

Remember what that presenter during the M1 event said, "The greenest power is the power you don't use." (paraphrasing)

Leaving the system on, even in low power consumption mode, when you don't require it to be doing anything is still a waste of this planet's resources.

There’s Green ideology, and then there’s physics.

The power consumption doesn’t “waste this planet’s resources.” It turns into heat, which warms your house (ever so slightly, because the power consumption isn’t actually all that much).

It’s winter time, remember?
