These were done by my 16 year old sister. My iPad doesn't leave the house ofter and I'm like never home so the iPad has pretty much become her own. lol.

These are a few of her drawings, all done using ArtStudio.

first attempt on my iPad with Procreate

I am so impressed with a few of the 'painting apps' available. . .I have probably bought / downloaded just about all of them, but am especially impressed with Procreate - And this is my first effort with Procreate on the iPad (3)...

I did the first drawing on my iPad 1st Gen about a year ago using ArtRage, combo finger and then a stylus. Then a couple months ago I began using a Wacom Bamboo Fun and then added to the ArtRage drawing using PhotoShop & the Bamboo. (It's still not finished though, maybe a water reflection or something...)

I really enjoy the real-life brush textures in ArtRage and the ability to change the background texture. My next favorite iPad Apps are SketchBook Pro, then Brushes.

Did this one back in February of 2011. I'm currently working on another Halo: Reach inspired picture.

Ben Spies from MotoGP racing fame.

I used to draw a ton when I was younger (and was quite good), but ever since I came to college, I seldom have the time for it. Sometimes I doodle on my iPad, but I don't like doing it with my finger and my stylus isn't too good for it.

For those using a stylus, which one did you go with? It's summer now and I'd like to get back into the hobby :)

I also like to use different apps to modify photos. The first one I changed the background and floor in SketchBook Pro then ran it through Toon Paint and colored it in. No stylus.

The second one I used SketchBook Pro to get rid of the background and add an ear which was folded back, ran it through PaintMe! and then back into SketchBook Pro to change some of the colors, add whiskers, etc. I didn't use a stylus for this either.

Although styluses help a little, they're still frustrating to me because the tips are so big and get in the way of detail work, or aren't quite as responsive as fingertips. I have a Boxwave and an ACase.

I can't remember the first one I had that I did my Ben Spies picture with but I have since moved to the Targus. It is slightly longer than the other one giving me a more natural feel when I draw. I started out doing a lot of pencil drawings when I was younger too, tried to do pen and ink, and in college did some charcoal. Now it's on to digital. I have a wacom tablet that I've been dying to dabble with as well. It's currently sitting at my ex's house right now though.

Wow, you all can do some really detailed iPad drawings/paintings, --impressive!!

I just doodle but I'm going to try to do something more modeled next time as a personal challenge.

I never heard of Procreate before, -will definitely check that out.

Here is a doodle from ASKetch from last year, it does interesting things to line work. Not always easy to control. And another quick thing from ArtRage playing with different tools.

Thanks Erko - I reckon it's easier than it might look. If one works with (Corel) Painter and a Wacom, on a Mac, then this is really quite similar.... (without the small Wacom pen tip of course)...

I usually paint on large canvases, so it's good to be able to mess about while commuting or 'out and about'....

I am busy with a couple of others on the iPad, so may post when done.

Ok, let me just say I LOVE Procreate and I've only started using it 10 min ago.

This picture was one of my 5 minute challenges (where I give myself exactly 5 minutes to paint something.)

Here's my first painting with Procreate:

I downloaded Procreate a week ago and still haven't had time to try it out yet...:(

The 5-minute challenge Chrono mentioned sounds like a great idea, I think I'll have to slide that into 15+ minutes though...

Its a great app. Its the closest app I can find to Corel Painter for an iPad. The only thing I wish it had was a record feature like Brushes has where you can playback your painting.

I adore it though. I can't wait to try and make something nice.

I finally tried Procreate, --it IS really great! The UI is very intuitive fortunately (for me) as I forget how to do stuff in apps if I haven't opened them in a while. I stuck with the pen & ink section and the marks felt wonderfully smooth like drawing with Paper. --Can't wait to explore this app further! :)

Thanks! Full disclosure: I "cheated" by importing a background pattern into Procreate and then just doodled on top of it, a relatively easy way to squeak through a 15 minute challenge (alright, caught out again, -more like 1/2 an hour).

I was expected the thread to be spammed with DrawSomething for laughs.

Nice artwork, everyone!
