I figured that if the ARM lot can have a thread like this, why not us? Show off your Core 2 Beasts! Let's get some good glamour shots of early Intel goodness :D

Big Bertha her lives her days in my classroom (except for summers when she comes home for cleaning and some TLC), dutifully showing my seating charts and various announcements for the kiddos. Most of my students (middle school) are amazed when they find out that this machine is from 2008 and as old as many of them!

This an early 2009 iMac my parents’ have had since 2016. I updated it to Mojave for them in early 2019 and then to Catalina in late 2019. It has a Fusion drive so it‘s fast. The ram has been upgraded in 2019 as well from 4 to 8gb and the iMac really flies through web browsing and office work.
You may notice that it’s running Mojave, which is because there are some 32-bit apps that actually are needed again now.

I've been amazed at the longevity of these 2008-2010 Macs with regards to running newer versions of OS X. I do wish that I had an early 2009 - that beautiful design along with up to 8GB of (cheap) RAM would be lovely.

That's the only thing I don't like about my early 2008 iMacs. The RAM is capped at 6GB and those 4GB sticks of DDR2 are crazy expensive!

Here's my 2008 iMac. I bought it 4 years ago to use as a TV for my bedroom. I pretty much only ever used it for tinkering though, but when I have used it for web browsing it seemed surprisingly capable considering its age with 5GB of RAM and an SSD. I've got it triple booting Snow Leopard, Tiger, and High Sierra. These days, it's mainly just a decoration in my office, but it is useful when I occasionally need to run a 32-bit app or if I need to boot a DVD on my recently acquired G4 via target disk mode.

Perhaps the title should be changed to "Show off your 24" Intel iMac" just in case.

btw, the white 24" iMac was my first iMac ever :)
Me too. I used them prior to that but this one in particular is the first one I bought (on CL in 2007) with my own sweat equity.

I rarely break this one out of its box anymore because of their finicky GPUs. I’ve already replaced this one once. Don’t feel much like doing it again lol.

I don't think it is the original. These babies came with the aluminum kbd originally. That could possibly be a G5 Power Mac Keyboard. I think Apple was somewhere in between designing their aluminium portfolio to it's full at that time. Oh boy, am I old or what, remembering all that..huh..
