I really like the 42mm better! They both look good, but pictures tend to make them look even bigger than they actually are and the 38 just looks too small in my opinion.
Stick with what you find to be the most comfortable!
I have worn the 38 and 42mm over the weekend on my both wrists.
I have 150mm wrists. 50mm with.
Big hands.
Im skinny and 185cm tall.
I have no problem with a smart watch look.
At first I like to say, that I found the 42mm looking better anyway when its off the wrist. In my opinion you get much more apple watch with the 42mm.
The round watch faces looks much better on the 42 because of the bigger screen.
The 38mm looks like a kids or lady watch. I know manny will not agree in this point.
My pros of the 42mm:
- bigger screen with nicer screen to bezel ratio
- higher resolution Display
- battery was much better than my 38mm. With moderate use and heart rate tracking I had 80% at the end of day left.
- bigger texts and touch elements makes it much more useable. I have no glasses needed and have small thin fingers.
- The crown was much more scrollable because the watch is a little more heavier and bigger.
- i found the crown was easier to click too.
- everything on the display says wow too you
- everytime i looked on the 38mm (even while the 42mm has not arrived so far) i had no "wow that looks nice" moment
For me the 42mm is the way to go.
I can only advice anyone to go with 42mm.
At the End its a personal preference.
Someone here wrote that wrist size is not all. It dependa on your whole body shape and specialy your hand size and arm length. You must test out the watches yourself wirhout photos i front of a mirror. Only a mirror can show you how It looks over the day on you.
