Barefeats, I do have one more question: did you do anything special for the card drivers?

After installing the OEM 3870 and booting up Vista 64, I went to the ATI site, downloaded the latest Catalyst drivers designated for it, and rebooted. Then I ran the 3D game benchmarks.

Does anyone know if there are any drivers for this card? (there is nothing on the ATI website)

If you mean Windows drivers, I booted Vista 64, went to the ATI website and used the driver finder to locate and download the Vista 64 drivers for the Radeon.

Nah I actually meant for Max OS X 10.5.2 or above.

My card is only detected and works if I load my Mac Pro in safe mode only.

When I load the Mac Pro normally the card is not detected in the Graphics/Display info or the PCI information in "Apple" "About this Mac"and "More Info" (I can check this as I still have my original ATI Radeon HD 2600 installed in bay 2. I also have tried the different suggestions in the OWC troubleshooting guide).

Sending my "Silver Arrow" back to OWC for exchange of the blue ATI version, which I really don't like doing at all. I can't get the Apple/ATI version working though, still does the black screen freeze on any game. I even re-installed the 2600, played the same games at same settings (granted, play was much choppier) and it didn't freeze once. Very disappointing.

Barefeats, I have one more question: When you say you grabbed the latest Catlyst drivers for it, did you download the ones for Windows > HD 3870 or did you download the Mac Boot Camp drivers? I now see that both are on the ATI site. I downloaded the XP > HD 3870 8.11 Catalyst driver the first time and am wondering if I should have chosen Boot Camp 8.43. Thanks

# of wires to fan

Hey,

Does anyone with one of these Silver Arrow cards have a moment to see how many wires run to he fan?

I just noticed that the Blue retail card is a simple 2 wire fan while the Red ones have a 4 wire fan. The multi wire fans typically have better control and I m curious if the larger Silver Aroows use the 4 wire system.

Also, has anyone done a ROM dump to compare ROMs?

Hi everyone. Sorry for necro post, but if somebody still have this card - I'm ready to buy it for my collection and will save it for history.
