Alright guys, I'm not gonna lie, the property value in my city is in the sh*tter. Everything else is going really well except my citizens complain they can't get to work despite ample roads and bus stops. How do I increase the property value? I have plenty of money and parks, crime isn't a problem at all. That and any other strategies are welcome.

My solution to that was to prioritize the Health of the citizens. I separated the Industrial (quite far) from both the Residential and Commercial Zones in order to decrease the pollution. Also make sure adequate hospitals are placed, and check the ordinances regularly. Added some ordinances and pretty much everything is from average property value.
This game just ate my battery thrice now, good thing I have an external battery pack

HAHA your strategy brings out the tyrant in me. Yea this game eats my battery too but I love it and don't care. Is there a way to build bridges though? because if not thats really lame and I can't have my sims cross a lttie stream.

What is the external battery pack plz?
Just building a road across a body of water should automatically build a bridge.
That doesn't work for me... I've tried it multiple times; it builds roads on both sides of the water, but not the bridge itself.
it depends on a couple of things... cash (can you afford the bridge?) and how you create the road... ie, how long is it? i find it works every time if you make a small segment of road that goes about 3 or 4 squares beyond the edge of the water at either side. if you make a long stretch of road it doesn't seem to create the bridge. possibly a bug?
now i have a question. the water pumps, water treatment and the other one. i can't get these to work like in the PC version. i think the treatment plant does help water polution, but i was sure the other one (i forget its name) when put near the coast or river could give you a greater water supply than a pump or tower. it isn't doing this for me. and the water pumps aren't doing anything either. all i can use are water towers...? anyone else getting this?
YES! i'm getting this, very annoying. hopefully fixed in the update (hope there is one, needs to be!)

You can probably look up strategies for sim city 3000 and use alot of those. Unfortunatly this is only a semi-port so there will be differences. Eventually somone will put out a guide online but untill then you will have to rely on sc 3000 guides and the help of others.
ive got no idea either.... people always complain about transportation but ive got 0 people riding the train.... i'm assuming its set up wrong...
Yepp ... thats my problem ... examine train stations (even with a different layout) and i get 0 people on it.... just can't seem to even break even ... after a couple of years i just run out of money .... everything i try seems to make my income stay really low and just up expenses...

What Ive found works is to take a more republican method of taxing. I keep the commercial and Industrial taxes very very low (about 2-3% after a while but you need to work your way there) and it promotes tons of business growth and therefor attracts people to the city. It sounds like it doesn't make sense but I keep an average of over 300k in the bank, I can't even spend any without making it back.
Another tip is to keep industrial and dumps as far away as possible from commercial and residential. It helps keep property values up.
One of my strategy's is to create tons of parks in museums where i want property value to be high. in every 6x6 block i have one 3x3 park or museum.. It really shoots the property value up.
I was actually using the Imax battery pack that allows you to charge it like 5x times. It really helps especially if you want to play Simcity on your iPhone for a long time. I can't copy paste the link since I'm just on my iPhone but search the accessories forum, it's there.

Not necessarily .... you still need to make money monthly to keep going ... otherwise that 50k starting pot will run out

I just got the game and can't for the life of me figure out how to get the Sims to ride the trains I connected each different type of zone, and still nothing happens. All I get is a message that says my rail stations aren't in good locations yadda yadda. I checked the pre-made cities, and their rail stations are set up in a similar matter, yet those get like 100+ passengers Anybody figure anything out yet? Thanks

Thanksif your having trouble with money just keep trucking. live off loans for a while and eventually you'll get a business offer for casino and jail. these two things combine for $700 a month... once i got these two offers i was -30k... but once both of them kicked in, i was at a monthly surplus. so i just hit the fast forward till i was back over $0
I got this game even though I knew it would be too complicated for me and I am lost, I can't tell if anybody is using my roads and am I supposed to see cars moving on the streets? People complain about transit but I dunno if I'm doing it right. Also, I can't find a single way to make money, if I raise taxes then everyone leaves.
