The subject is Siri, not driving safety.

The subject is Siri. Therefore, the question of whether or not it is safe to use Siri while driving is relevant. Everything I've read says that anything that distracts your mind from the task of driving, however briefly, negatively affects your safety. It's been shown that splitting your concentration between two tasks reduces your alertness for both.

Please, while driving, don't do anything other than driving with your full concentration. Too many people die on the roads already.

Quite right, which is why I'm positive that you never drive: with a live passenger; with the radio on; while operating the windows, heat/ac, cruise control, or any other switches, dials, or gauges in the car. You also should never drive on anything less than 8 hours of sleep, as numerous studies have shown that your mental abilities and reaction times rapidly diminish with even minor sleep loss. It goes without saying that you shouldn't be on any medication whatsoever.

Should we keep going? I can play this game all day long.

When I'm driving I keep my attention on the road. I do not answer the phone. I do not eat or drink. I do not make eye contact with passengers. If I get tired on a long drive, I find a safe place to pull off the road to take a nap. And I do not play at asking Siri to do stuff.

The point of my post, however, was that in a thread about Siri, using it while driving is relevant to the topic.

I find Siri makes doing simple tasks longer... It mis-hears what I say all the time. Would I would like would be to put Siri commands into spotlight and have Siri deal with them.

I agree with this - people need to pay attention to the road.

I use it for simple searches on-the-go, setting reminders/alarms and weather forecasts. Regardless, 'she' is definitely one of my favorite features of the iPhone.

I often try to use it when driving using "Hey Siri". The lag between it recognizing your voice command to being able to ask Siri something is a pain. It starts listening after different lengths of time so you're never sure when exactly to start talking.
