I find it weird that people say they're not focusing on AI when their recent hiring and acquisitions would paint a different picture. They're not snatching up AI and Machine Learning companies for laughs. They didn't hire Google's AI Chief because they liked his smile.
Apple is chock full of highly qualified personnel. So what's going on? Buggy software at best, worst in class voice capability.

They can buy all they want, probably buying skill sets they already have. Sort of leaves management on the hook for poor results. Will see what happens to Apple. User since 1984. But other brands are now creeping their way into our home.

I think in a few years we’ll see major improvements to Siri since they just combine all machine learning divisions under one leader.

I own both and use either more than anyone I know. Possibly more than EVERYONE I know. Neutered is really powerful language. Siri does just fine at setting appointments, getting directions, reporting scores and the like.

I have a longstanding gripe about integration with Logitech Harmony, but that is about it. I get the rest done with Siri just fine when I want to.

Siri is optional... We only got used to Siri, because it "became' included. That's different than having something that was there from the very start.

Siri was not. Which changes the outcome.

If Apple ditched Siri from future iPhone,I wouldn't have a problem with it, because i never use it. Although users would be up in arms, like anything, the fury would calm.

The longer you wait, the harder users would take it as "it should be"

Siri may be useful, but currently, since its basically limited to soccer and other basic tasks, are only just starting to appear now in Siri, its "bit a late to the game" Timmy

If Apple wants to be competitive in the market, they need an assistant.
