I changed from the 7+ to X. I have not been happy with the X because of the smaller width. I plan to buy a wider phone. My eyes are not able to discern the difference in OLED and other iPhone screens, so I might actually "downgrade" from a X series to the 8 series for a wider width. I make many mistakes while using Swipe text input in the X.

I’m keeping my current X as well. I’m not interested in the plus model either. So no reason for me to “upgrade” to basically the same exact phone. I know it’s gonna have a performance bump. But your probably not gonna feel it much anyway. As the X is plenty fast.

I bought an X and only recently sold it and went back to an 8+ - barely notice a screen quality difference but really didn’t like Face ID and the tall narrow screen.

Go for an 8 or 8+, will be cheaper now and still has great features.

The amount of duplicated threads right now is astonishing. I think the majority will make their decision after the Keynote, which is usually what is normal.

No need to upgrade for X owners. I'm keeping mine and hopefully next year we have some "innovation".

I am torn and will be holding out until the keynote. I love my X , but would like a bigger phone. I am worried the Max model will be too big and heavy, and I was a previous plus owner.
My other concern is price. If they price the new Max model over the price for my X 256gb, I think I’m out. I love my phone and realize it is something that is used daily, is my camera, my gps, everything. But phone prices are getting out of hand IMO.

I’d like to return to a Plus sized iPhone and I’d also like an increase in storage to 512GB (photos, podcasts, music, apps)....so tempted if the plus size has that storage option. I’m also tempted by the new iPad Pros, so waiting to see those as well. I think that I will pick one or the other to upgrade though, not both.
512 is huge, i wonder if you really need that much storage, i guess it depends on the individual.
This is sad.
Rick P. took a solid $500+ hit on the X for using it for 8 months lol

Upgrading for the larger screen size and battery for sure. X battery is dead by 3pm for me, so need to larger battery of the plus.

I have been dead set on the new X Plus but after seeing mock-ups and the case for it, I have changed my mind and will stick to my X for a while to see what everyone thinks about the X Plus first. The X and it's screen size has been perfect for me.

Last year I was convinced I'd go back to Plus size at the first opportunity, but I've come around to a smaller phone in the meantime. Suits me better, I never watch video (bar the odd clip) on it, and I've deliberately been using my phone less anyway, a habit that goes back to pre X days. Battery life was my fear last year coming from the Plus to X, but I aways have 40% or so left by the evening these days.

The one thing I'll be envious of though is better Face ID, if it happens. Not in general usage, works better than fine for that, but it is a pain when I'm waking up horizontal and it barely recognises me. Seems to have improved at that lately though, works most of the time.

I'm not upgrading for just better Face ID though. There may be an as yet undisclosed improvement that tempts me, but I doubt it, it's been diminishing returns on phones across the board for years now anyway.

I will be upgrading my SS Series 2 Watch though, ooooh yes.

.....and a maxed out new iPad Pro, whenever that is coming.

So Apple will still see a chunk of my wallet, ha.

I'm skipping iPhone upgrade without hesitation this year. Currently on an iPhone 8 and don't plan to upgrade until Pro Motion/Face ID 2, and/or the LCD model of 2019 (if it still exists) gets a resolution bump.

Cameras haven't gotten much better in ages, processors are all fairly good, random access memory is mostly a non-issue, OLED is less preferred to me than LCD, iPhone X is approaching ripoff pricing. Those are my reasons.
[doublepost=1536769921][/doublepost]I will be buying an Apple Watch though, super excited for the series 4!

I can get by with 256, but it’s always close to full and 512 is going to be awesome for me. I load my iPhone up with video podcasts and photos. I have 512 in my iPad Pro and it’s close to full. With that amount of storage on my iPhone, I’ll be able to store more music offline and add some TV shows and movies as well. Plus, I won’t be so hesitant to record my video in 4K with all of that space.
