Same here (albeit in the US) - I'm a Skype newbie. I thought only skype-to-skype calls were free on the iPhone. I've not put any $$$ into my account, but I made a call to a landline phone. According the Skype website this cost me $0.06 - will this end up on my AT&T bill?

I just tried to call my home landline via Skype on my iPhone. I got a popup telling me I didn't have enough Skype credit in my account.

skype is a completely independent business from AT&T. The direct calls you make on skype are billed by skype, AT&T has nothing to do with it.

The only exception is if you go through "Call Back" which will use your cellular minutes if no wi-fi is available, but this service is only available on IM+, or possibly Fring/Nimbuzz. It's not available on the native Skype app.

Thanks, but I'm asking if the iPhone will work without a plan, or if there would be some kind of restriction. I'm not asking about Skype at all.
