Again, pure PC.. no mac at all and I would be hard pressed to get no answer from them as they are using PC's to get SLI working.. the mac pro simply doesn't have the imbedded hardware to make use of this.. Windows will only support crossfire with unlocked pc flashed cards.. Apple's OEM cards like the Radeon 4870 HD have crossfire disabled and I take it with the 285 its the same thing..

Apple doesn't want us to have this.. Windows, does allow this as you already know.. See? I used the multi-quote this time.

True - SLI and Crossfire are predominately for games... but surely 3D rendering apps making use of the GPU or multiple GPUs would benefit?

Putting aside that the member is banned, no difference.

Why? In CUDA or the likes, having multiple GPUs does help, but as standalone things, not in xFire or SLI; think GPGPU. Those are gimmicks just for games.

I've just skimmed through the posts, saw that the GTX285s got SLI but I'm wondering if I could get SLI in Boot Camp for my GT120s. Any updates on the actual process (other than trying to make motherboard modifications)?

Only 2 years? I can do better then that. Now its almost 4 years ago since last post. Anyone got away with this?

I had used HyperSLI a couple years ago with minimal success. I had two Geforce 670's together in SLI. When I would enable SLI, the Mac Pro would blue screen. It would then reboot and SLI was checked and enabled. For me, it was unstable. Games would crash randomly and I couldn't find a common cause (besides the hacked SLI setup.) I gave up and haven't tried again since. You could try DifferentSLI. I've read some good things, but I've never tried it.
