As I mentioned, ScanCafe's service was terrible for me. Image quality was the poorest of several companies I sent samples too. Use them if you prefer cheapness over quality. Their marketing of Scanning by Hand is just hype.

I hope not to offend anyone but I would absolutely NOT send my film out to India when there are USA companies to do the work - even if it is more expensive. When possible, I try to keep business within the USA. As for machine or hand done - labs that use Imacons in the USA will provide you with the very best results (though very expensive) and some of those use forms of "automation" accessories to advance film.
