I personally think having to swipe up every time when you unlock your phone with face ID is a bit too much, maybe my opinion will change when my phone gets here but having to slide up every time will take longer than just tapping my finger into the Touch ID and going right to home.

Opnions?

I like having to swipe up as opposed to the phone just opening when I look at it.

It will be interesting to see if you can change this behave on the X, but im wondering if its possible to open the X while its sitting on the table (Within reach of your hand) without grabbing it and put it infront of your face? something im doing all the time with touchID, putting my finger on the phone and its open… and no i don’t pickup the phone after its open from the table, coz from that angle i can see and do everything.

Everywhere people talking about what will happen when your face is cover or when its dark, but im curious to know what's the limit angle FaceID can work…

Swiping up to me is the same as pressing the home button. you'll get used to it. it's not a big deal.

Yeah the angle will be interesting. I think that if it’s at a close enough angle for the phone’s display to be readable / consume content, then it’s likely a good enough angle for Face ID to work. Would be cool in real world use - tap anywhere on the screen for it to light up and unlock (assuming the angle is good for Face ID).

I want the to try the (rumoured?) swipe down on the home bar for Reachability.

Oh that would be interesting. Was that a thing? I must have missed it.

That’s ridiculous.

The question should be whether your fingers get tired from swiping or whether your screen poops out sooner swiping  Only kidding. I do know one thing though. Swiping will place a lot of smudges on your screen. :)

There is a way to open to home screen after face ID unlocks without having to swipe up.

1. Go to settings and general
2. Go to Accessibility
3. Got to assistive touch and turn on toggle.
4. Under custom actions click on single-tap and change to "home"
5. Go to home screen and see a translucent circle in bottom right corner, tap once and your at the home screen without swiping up. and works in any app that you are in as well.
6. Change idle opacity to 15% so you barley can see circle.
7. No more Carpal Tunnel!

Nice find. I just think it's dumb to tap in lower right but I get it because it's on the home screen.

That's a good find. Anyway to make the icon even less conspicuous? Or smaller?
