That's all fine and good, but you're a hypocrite....

"After over a month of hassles, rude customer service and 2 different 2016 13 mbp one with and one without touch bar , I've decided to resort back to my sons old 2015 rmbp base model. I finally get the issues solved to a tolerable degree. this is what I've been experiencing, and may not even come close to the joy of ownership other people are having."
Thanks for playing. Welcome to MacRumors by the way...

hey dude if your gonna quote, get the quote correct. dont delete parts of it for your attempt at a rude reply. heck if you add it back, your point would be silly, so your better off deleting it. I guess what was posted is what you fixated on, so you forgot the rest. Big difference though for the return, I think hardware related is more serious, especially since it effects the operation of the system. Wait, at a presentation a micro scratch will cost you a sale or job more than a frozen or non working machine. seriously!! so typical a response though.

Sucks when someone actually looks at your past posts and points out your hypocrisy ehh.

No.. sucks for you when you get called out for not correctly quoting a post. Don't chop one up to attempt to make a point.I stand by my point that it's silly to send back for a micro knick that can be fixed. Sillier yet to ask for compensation for it. If that seems hypocritical to you then you need to change the brand of cider you drink.

I didn't alter your words. I simply removed the part unrelated. Hate long quotes that reply to one line within a diatribe. I don't think they're owed compensation, but I don't think if they pay for a new product they should get a damaged product. If you're content with doing car body work on a car you bought as new with defects fine. I don't think many will side with you on that one tho.

Actually by you editing my post, and I never said you altered words, you changed its substance to suit your post. Go back and reread the original then yours. Think about it long and hard.

If you think that's damage, look at some of the other related posts. Long scratches, ok, dented, damaged speakers.. yes. This is so tiny it's almost not there. Does it affect performance... no. Maybe it does if it prevents the op from using it. I don't know. Mine... hardware related, unstable and could not be trusted in the field. Big difference.

Simple answer here is if it bothers you, return it. In the unlikely event that you get one with a worse flaw, that one can be returned also. I have never put a scratch on any of my laptops so the chance of that happening to your laptop depends on how you use the device. Don't be intimidated by responses here. Do what you are comfortable with.

Same here, I guess if one is prone to being a destructive slob, a little scratch won't bother them. I take care of my things, so I am with you, don't have scratches or dents or scuffs on my apple products.

Thanks to everyone for being like this; its people like you with these small ridiculous problems that Apple, with any problem now in regards to the new MacBook Pro, is being super defensive and are dragging their feet in very troubling and serious hard ware issues. Time to go build a PC :D

Interesting observation. I figured that was more due to phones with reception problems, graphics cards that fail, and batteries that don't do what Apple sells them as being able to do?

Really though, it's not the end of the world, it's not the worst problem one will have in their life, but when buying a computer that's new, one is entitled to a computer free from defects, however small. Moreover, the severity of a defect is in the eye of the purchaser. If it was a cheap laptop maybe the bar would be lower, but to me, when I buy a new car I want it to be immaculate, at least until I drive it off the lot and hit a pebble and chip my own paint.

Maybe it's just me though.

I owned 3 of these machines before swapping and returning for good.. and 2/3 of them had the same speck. Didn't bother me that much, but must be a common issue.

I think when people read threads on sites like this, we start looking for issues and pick up on things and want things a certain way. With one of my iPhones I kept thinking everyone I switched for had the same screen issue. What I realized, is there was a change in the screen for that model and it wasn't a problem. I have read posts about scratchs, graphic problems and worried about the one I ordered. When it came I started looking to see if it had scratchs, it didn't have any. But I don't know if I would worry about a speck, the replacement one might have worse. Apple gets concerned and question you after so many returns, they did on my iPhone. Be careful about rushing into returning it over a speck.
how did they question u on so many returns ? like they called you or something?

No, every time I returned it they would say things like, "So this your third return. We will do it this time but we don't see a problem that warrants your return. The last time, the salesperson called the manager to come and told the manager I was returning a phone for a forth time and says there is a problem with the screen, but I don't see it." The phone was shown to the manager who then told me she would allow the return, but would make a note on it and that I would not be allowed to return it again because they didn't consider my concern legitimate.
