Taken with my old 70-300mm so not strictly macro, but I licked the little bug crawling on the thistle. I couldn't get any closer, so even if I'd had a macro lens on at the time, it wouldn't have been closer. Also shot on my D7100 so the 270mm was more like 405mm

Just wanted to say thank you to all that have shared thus far. I always enjoy macro/micro/close up photography.

Rather than go down the pretty fuchsia-colour-original track, I thought I'd do a B&W conversion to highlight the texture.

EOSM3 with nifty-fifty @f11 and 23mm extension tube. 2-second exposure with minimal crop to straighten.
