Might also want to have a look at the Freecom USB Memory drives. This one is a 250GB, which I think is the biggest they do. Next to a MBA 11 for size comparison:

At those prices you could also just replace the SDD for a larger one at OWC.

Yours is the Toshiba Canivo 500GB portable hard drive. I bought the 640GB version of this drive more than a year ago. I liked it so much I gave one just like it to my daughter. I store recorded books, movies, and a number of backup files on my portable hard drive so a couple of weeks ago I upgraded the 640GB drive to the Toshiba Canvio Plus 1 TB USB 3.0 Portable External Hard Drive.

I got these drives from Amazon and recommend them highly. I use a long USB cable to connect them so that the drives can stay on a table near where I sit when I use my MBA. These drives are much bigger than the micro drives some use with their MBAs but there is a lot of difference between 32GB of storage and 1TB.

I just bought a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex 1TB and I love it. I tried another external before that had a USB Y-cable and didn't like it much. It had to use both USB ports to provide enough juice which would've been difficult to pull off on the MBA.

On the GoFlex, it is really quiet and can power itself on its own cable. The only con I can think of is that it uses a proprietary connector. The plus side though, is that the connector can be switched out for other "accessory" plugs like FireWire, USB3.0, eSata, TV dock, and "nas" dock. I'm assuming that if ThunderBolt becomes immensely successful, Seagate might go ahead and release a TB connector accessory for it.

Mine came with the USB 3.0 plug (not the 2.0 one) and I got it cheap for $79. It was an open/returned item and the neatest thing was that it came with a ripped movie that is in a language I am unfamiliar with! :D
