Maybe this topic should be made sticky, it seems to come up every week :)

My take on it - if you always want the keyboard to hand then the Folio Keyboard makes a lot of sense. If you you are an occasional keyboard user then a Bluetooth keyboard is probably a better option.

This really sums it up. I’d also say for those that aren’t sure, try a folio cover and budget Bluetooth keyboard first. It’s the way cheaper solution.

Wondering if my local apple store will let me exchange my folio case for the keyboard case... 80 days since I bought it!

They did. And I love the keyboard.

Glad to see that! I like that Apple is pretty good about allowing these things, though I wonder if they would have allowed it if it had been in the other direction (meaning a partial refund.)

I’ve been vacillating over what to do with the Smart Folio vs Folio Keyboard and since I was near an Apple Store I decided to go have a look in person and seriously consider the folio keyboard.

My take on it - the 11in Pro the keyboard is fine, the device has weight but it’s still very wieldy when held as a tablet / book style.

But with the Folio Keyboard on the 12.9 it pushed the weight too far and I think it would be uncomfortable to hold. Yes, you can take the cover off but that kind of defeats the point, for me.

So, I ended up with this:

The Magic Keyboard is a perfect size for the 12.9 Pro!

So that will be going in my bag with my 12.9 and I’ve come back to my ‘plan A’ - folio cover + magic keyboard combo. The same price a the Folio Keyboard, but (for me) a lot better functionality.

And the keyboard is lovely to type on...
