iPhone X Smudges on iPhone X display

Taking a screenshot captures what the GPU is sending out, not what is actually shown on the screen.

Any issues with the screen that don’t show up in a screenshot will be hardware related.

This ‘issue’ being the oled screen unable to render a smooth gradient between those colours when the transparency effect is on top. Also known as banding.

Uhm... and why if some iPhone X have this screen perfect and mine display this orribile smudge? Probably other iPhone have screen that can render color in a better method . I have 2 kind of smudges , one blue that is not present in screenshot (is displayed only in miniature but no in image library) and the red one that is present in all screenshot , and also have a strange flicker on it when is zoomed .

You tell my smudges have hard shape and that is not normal !

Ok express replacement confirmed ! In the lottery again !

Are you viewing your screenshots on the iPhone X?
Because that kind of defeats the purpose.

Yes, i’m on my second X , first has screen popping , not properly glued !

View your screenshots on a laptop or an LCD screen phone. See if the smudges are there.
Or send the screenshot to someone with an X and see if they can see it.

My opinion is thats its a limitation of the OLED screen at its lowest brightness with a transparency overlay.
I think it would affect all X's and would be considered, normal.

View your screenshots on a laptop or an LCD screen phone. See if the smudges are there.
Or send the screenshot to someone with an X and see if they can see it.

Same image on my MacBook Air has no issue , same story on iMac ( lcd screen for all pc) .

No worries, just wanted to show you that its a hardware issue, inherent with the OLED panels apple is using.
Not a software issue and not unique to your phone!

Don't worry about it, it may look a little ugly in that particular instance, but as others have said, exchanging your phone might land you with an X with a more serious issue!
