The problem with Zenfolio (and the main reason I’m considering switching) is that they don’t sample hi-res images for Retina displays. I submitted a portfolio recently via my website and one comment was that some images were too soft of OOF. In LR they are tack sharp, but they do look fuzzy on my site.

It’s incredibly frustrating that this is an issue in 2018.

also I found that it was much quicker and easier to grab an image and share it on another site (usually a web-based forum such as this one) with Zenfolio than it was with Smugmug. Still is.
Don't know how you reached that conclusion, I literally click on an arrow icon on my SmugMug site, choose the size, copy the code and then paste it here. I don't know how it could get any simpler...

It has been some years ago now that I used Smugmug and undoubtedly they have changed their procedure -- I would hope so, anyway! It used to be rather cumbersome and I found Zenfolio's to be easier and faster. From what you are describing, it sounds as though the two services offer similar processes now.

That's a good thing, progress is always good! I've been with SmugMug since 2014 and it's always been this way for me. I think it's pretty much the same across the board now between all image hosting facilities.
