Do you commute for 4 hours a day? Do you know anyone that does? Day in, day out, day in, day out, day in, day... you see where I'm going with this?

It drives you slowly insane. 4 hours is A LOT everyday.

That was me a few years back (Birmingham to Marlow - only 100 or so miles, but it wasn't all motorways). I could've moved south, but to south I'd get half the house for twice as much mortgage. The saving grace was it wasn't my car or my fuel. Still it's quite scary getting in a car, then arriving without being able to recall the previous 1.5/2 hours.

Yeah, I know how the "zone" can get and you can't recall any lane changes or even if you stopped properly at stoplights or signs. I know the 2 hour commutes exist, I just don't consider them common nor "nothing" as the guy who originally posted it suggested.

I did try my 1 hour commute via train and bus for a month which upped the one-way time to 2 hours and after a month I just said screwit and went back to our high gas prices (mind you this is a relative statement as you Brits have much higher petrol costs).

I can tell you just by reading fa8362's post, that he hasn't worked a day in his life.

Nor had I when I was a teenager.

UPDATE: I spoke with MacMall and they're shipping me a new unit which they're charing my credit card for at the same price I paid for the original and once I receive it they're arranging to pick up the other one to be returned for a refund. I'm hoping that the new one they send me doesn't have any problems because I doubt MacMall is as generous about multiple returns as Apple is. Lesson learned though is that my next Apple purchase will be from the Apple Store online.

You see, we all have to work for a living and can't have mommy and daddy fix our iphone for us.

You can if mommy and daddy are iPhone repair technicians. ;)

Bill Gates, Donald Trump, Paris Hilton, etc., etc. etc., aren't actually "working for a living". All they do is swan around living off their employees' hard work.

It doesn't matter how "generous" they are. If a product is faulty they MUST fix it, replace it, or give you your money back. Third party resellers will simply send them back to Apple for a refund anyway, and Apple will fix them (were possible) and re-sell them as "refurbs".
