I too had been waiting for the new 13" mbp hoping to purchase to complement my 27" iMac. Went into the apple store today to see the new 13" mbp. I played around with the unit but wasn't too amazed. Went to the base 13" MBA and was amazed immediately. The screen is nice, system fast, and walked away very impressed. Will definitely get the 13" MBA over the MBP. I thought the sandy bridge procs would impress but c2d with ssd and better displays far more impressive.

The new Pro's are nice, but the portability of my air is key. I didn't and still dont need a mobile powerhouse.

I sold my iMac to get a new 13" MBP this week. Once they were released, I felt pretty disappointed. Don't get me wrong. The SBs are great and it's still a terrific rig no doubt. I would have probably went that route if either a better video card OR higher resolution screen was introduced. But neither...I just couldn't justify it and didn't want to shell out an extra grand for a decent 15".

So I got an 11" refurb and ordered some new parts for my gaming pc :) I'm very happy with the decision. Air showed up today and I love this little bastard.
