I like my 16 Pro. I knew going in that it would be a spec update.

As to the Desert Titanium color, it isn’t pink and any guy who says it looks too feminine needs to realize that colors are genderless. Some in society are biased against certain colors due several factors one of which is caring what other people think, which i think is absurd.

also digging my 16 pro so far. didn't have a 15 pro of any kind, and was on 14 pro max for 2 years and 13 mini in between right before this device. If I can get at least as good battery life, and the latest cameras and all, and a downsize and weight reduction directly against 14pm, win.

if I didn't have gift cards, or already had some 15 variant, I'd probably skip or return but I didn't so :D

fine by me. Personally I understand people betting on 17 being the big upgrade yet, but I just dont see it. I think all the models are gonna be incremental, and the Ultra Air is probably gonna be interesting but priced to the moon so count me out probably.

Apple has always been incremental because they are in the business of selling products. There really is no such thing as a small or big update. There is only an update but on the forum, the bias kicks in and an update gets twisted into a logic pretzel causing many forum people to act illogical despite facts presented.

If I hadn’t gotten a good offer on my 15 Pro and had spare Apple gift cards, I would have stuck with the 15 Pro and been fine.

As to iPhone 17, I agree with you. Unfortunately, many people are already making rumors a year away as fact and making decisions based on click-bait rumor articles found on many places on the internet.

I am really enjoying the size/dimensions of the 16PM especially with not using a case. I know it's slight, but it makes a difference and the iPhone seems more substantial than the 15PM. More balanced.

Not that I thought was gonna happen anyways, but I think lots of these same people were betting heavily on Series 10 watch being THE BIG KAHUNA of re-designs being the 10th one. Very incremental there too. Apple barely even made a big deal of it being their 10th watch! Who cares what's a '10 year anniversary' of a product in a lot of cases.

Same with thinking the Series 7 was gonna be the iPhone 12/13 box-y style. We still have not got that nor will we ever I dont think:

No matter what the arm chair insider thinks, you ultimately can't will a radical overhaul of a product's design or software into existence just because you're bored with the design or software, no matter how much you wish you could.

You do have to admit there’s a pink tinge to it though. Whether that’s feminine or not is a different story.

The 16pm doesn’t seem gargantuan?
Not to me, and I have small hands.

For me, what feels too large is more about my preferred style of use than my hand size. I have pretty large hands but prefer to use one hand to get to most of my phone's apps and functionality. So I've gotta go with the 6.3" Pro even though I'd love to have the extra battery life of the PM.

Had a 12 Pro Max, Upgraded to 14PM on release day, got that stolen at a music event, went back to a 12 Pro Max and now I’m a happy owner of a 16 Pro Max 512GB in Desert Titanium. I really love this phone. It’s faster in all ways, it’s so easy to take pictures now for memories and the quality is amazing. The battery life is the best part!! iOS 18 is really fun too I’ve been organizing my pages for productivity. Overall I’m loving the update whether software or phone related :) The only I could complain about if I had to is the color 😭 I’d like to say I’m pretty secure in my masculinity however this color is 90% girly with the pink hues. Like I might as well of gotten a pink phone with the way this desert titanium is. It’s just how I feel I’m sure it’ll grow onto me though. I have a love/hate relationship with the color. Half the time I’m impressed and in love with the tan color but the other half I’m regretting it whenever I see the phone in light or in the mirror since it looks more feminine/light than a dark bronze.

Edit: I forgot to mention the size and bezels. The screen is HUUUGE it really fills up the phone and feels super modern. I wish the phone was a bit bigger but that’s just me

I understand completely. We all have our own comforts.

Once the Plus sizes of the iPhone came out, I immediately jumped on that bandwagon and haven't looked back. It took a minute to go to a two-handed use, but for me not using a case it just makes for a more secure usage.

I’m happy with my 16 Pro Max but it’s also almost identical in use to the 13 Pro Max I had before. The camera is better, not really noticing the increase in screen size as it’s so small and the camera button is a bit fiddly IMO. A good phone, but let’s face it, if we’ve used recent iPhones it’s not going to be a huge difference in general use.

Not upgrading for the first time ever, and just wanting to live vicariously through others. ;-p

Wondering what you’re loving/not loving about your 16 model (whichever one).

I have to say the regular line had me so tempted with the great colors, and finally getting macro camera. I love my pro max, but would also love having a smaller, lighter phone again. But I decided to get on the every other year cycle with the phone and watch, and this year was the watch’s turn, so I’m just enjoying everyone else’s experiences.
Went from 15 Plus to 16 PM to get AOD again.

I think I'm ready to embrace the iPhone Air next year. I want a thin and light iPhone with a large screen and AOD. Heavy slab phones stink quite honestly.

(Also Camera Control location is awful on the 16 PM IMO. Totally worthless for me.)

This is my first phone with Face ID. I went from iPhone 7+ to SE 2 because I wanted Touch ID. I swore I'd never get a new phone until Touch ID was brought back. But I finally accepted that I'd probably never get a new phone if I stuck to that, so I got the base 16 in black.

I'm pleasantly surprised so far at how seamless Face ID has been. I haven't used my phone for Apple Pay yet, so we'll see how that goes. The bigger screen has been easier for me to type on, yet it doesn't really feel all that much bigger than the SE. And it's waaaaay faster. The SE was a good solid phone for me, but I'm really happy so far that I decided to upgrade.

I'm finding the iPhone 16 Pro somewhat underwhelming, coming from the iPhone 15 Pro (and a flagship Samsung). I'm constantly activating the camera by accident when picking up the phone because of the placement of the new button. I considered disabling the button altogether, but instead I've changed the settings to require a double-press to activate anything (the system default is one press to bring up the camera app). I'll see if this helps. The last thing I want is to be accused by a stranger that I'm trying to take photos of them when I was just getting the phone out to check a message.

On the weekend I used the iPhone to set up a new Ubiquiti gateway, and while using the configuration app, it got very very hot (even through a case).

I've had some issues with CarPlay not working properly (or not at all) in my car, but that's probably more of an issue with iOS 18.

I'm also having problems getting my bank card set up in Wallet in iOS 18, but again that's likely to be more of an OS issue.

It's fine, not much difference from my 13PM but I will keep it. Felt like an S yearly upgrade tho.

After 3 years of using Pro Max phones, I went with the 16 Pro (preordered a Pro Max but ended up not even opening it and just returning) and I’m happy with my decision. I’m currently using it without a case and it feels small to me. The thinner bezels on the screen make this feel like it’s all screen so that’s kind of cool.

This is close to a perfect phone for me but really I want a lighter phone. If the 17 gets a 120Hz display with AOD, I will be done with the Pro phones. I am also curious about the rumored thinner/lighter 17 “air”.

If I didn’t want to downsize this year I would’ve most likely kept my 15 PM as I don’t think it’s that much of an upgrade for my usage. But overall I’m happy with my decision and will be keeping the 16 Pro.

Coming from 15PM to 16PM Desert. So far I like the upgrade.

Can't feel the weight difference between the two. Not in my hand or pocket. Which is a good thing.

I like the camera control. I'm more of a one handed shooter (right hand) and have no issues holding the phone steady while using the camera control functions. Plus now, I can use the Action button for something different.

BTW: I love what Apple did with their silicon cases, by not making a cut out for the camera control and placing a touch sensitive material in it's place. 👍

WiFi 7 transfer speeds to my 10gbe Home network is so much faster. Now I have no issues transferring videos to my NAS, and vice versa.

I haven't felt any sufficient heat yet, not even when doing an initial setup, gaming, or video recording. I haven't tried rendering a video edit yet, and I have a feeling that will be the thing that makes this heat up.

Man oh man I shouldn’t have gone into the Apple Store today. I didn’t cave, but I sure do love those regular 16s. Gosh the colors are stunning!

I think I am honestly excited about the prospect of going back to a non-pro phone.

Well and for first year in a long time there pretty similar! Family has 16 plus and works amazingly.

I was surprised at how pink the Desert Titanium is too. I wouldn't call it a girly color phone though.

15 Pro in white to a 16PM in black. The 16PM feels way too big, but I’ll get used to it (I hope)
