Oh, well that's good to know. I'm not so sure what I should do now. Wait a few days or just go ahead right now. Honestly, I seriously doubt there's going to be a price drop for iMacs at NAB. So I probably shouldn't worry about that...

No, not at all. Unless you want to wait until the Santa Rosa platform
is out, and that might not be until after July or August.

Aren't all indications pointing to new hardware by June? I too am waiting for the new iMacs & Leopard.

Yeah, I just remember new releases at previous WWDC's
shipping the following month. But you're probably right, we should
see a significant refresh by then. ;)

There's a lot of speculation...and no one can say for sure. Anyways, I know I don't want to wait until June to buy a new computer. I need one now, and that's why I'm getting it now.

Yeah, I want one now, but if I am that close to a refresh - I'll wait.

I am a new Mac user and want to get a brand, spanking, new system.

I am just a little apprehensive how Macs handle some programming(Java, VB, ASP.NET), even with parallels or bootcamp.

Order it already

If you want it now just order it. You don't need a consensus from this forum to make a bad decision. Personally I would at least wait until 10.5 is shipping to avoid the extra expense of it.

Well, it's too late for waiting now! I've made the purchase of the 20", 2 GB Ram, with upgraded VC. Should get it around April 11-17.

I'll be upgrading either one I choose to 2.33 GHz, 2 GB Ram, and the best of the two video cards. Which one would you recommend? This would be my first Mac...I guess money isn't really an issue, although I would still prefer paying less, but whatever. Is there any big differences apart from the size? I know personally, I would of been happy with a 17-inch, but the processor and video card aren't that good, which is why I'm deciding between 20 or 24.

Let me know how you like it. I might take the plunge if Leopard doesn't come soon.

Buy now. Buy whatever you can afford, don't worry about the processor upgrade so much.

I second this. Playing the waiting game will have you ending up waiting year after year to buy a new Mac. I own the 20", and it is perfect. I got 2GB, video card upgrade, 2.33 processor... I love it. The 24 is too big for what I do, most like what you do as well unless it is something very high-end.

Congrats on your purchase Captain Planet. You'll love it. I adore my 20" iMac and with the nice Mac RAM and upgraded VC, it'll be one sweet machine.
