While it's not often that we lose cable connectivity at home, this was due to the extreme weather conditions (BIG snowstorm) that we had here

I was just looking at a friends pics from your neck of the woods (i've even had lunch at Tyson's Panera :D). BIG might be an understatement! LOL!! Hope you have dug out!

Yep, we got a doozy of a storm. For people in New England, North Dakota, Minnesota, Alaska or other colder places, it wouldn't be a big deal, but here in the DC area we just aren't prepared for this sort of thing, as it happens so infrequently. Everything comes to a standstill.

I'm all dug out, my car having been cleared for me by nice neighbors -- I was really surprised when I looked out the window and saw it! Our community spent most of the day being plowed/shoveled/snowblown.....things are getting there, but of course this is a lot of snow, which has to be put somewhere and also it is going to melt....creating another whole new situation. Major highways are still being worked on and I think that there are many residential developments which still need to be plowed. Federal, state and local jurisdiction (within this immediate area, primarily inside the Beltway) employees will be off again tomorrow, which is really necessary to allow people the time they need to get their driveways and streets cleared and to allow transportation employees and contractors to continue plowing the main streets to make them safe for driving.

Hey, Panera at Tysons! I met up with a friend for coffee and a snack there not too long ago.... It's also not too far from my favorite camera shop and from the Apple store!
