I'm a Mini user, I like being able to hold my phone in one hand and use it while I cycle to and from work each day. It's nice to be able to hold the dog leash in one hand while texting with the other and not having to play hand gymnastics to try to reach. If it is gone then I'm just not going to be upgrading to a newer iPhone, people thought I was mad I stuck with the original SE for many years.

I just don't want a big phone but I like having flagship features if I can. It's nice having the OLED screen and the nice cameras and SoC which is so fast I get no slow down. Tbh it's not even small, a handful of years ago a 5.4 inch screen was considered big!

Fingers crossed they just move the announcement to be the same as the SE.

Was waiting for today to decide what to do, ordered a 13 mini to replace my 12 mini from launch day. Should last another 2 years at least.

Disappointing there's not a 14 mini but given how little the 14 improved over the 13, seems like it would not have been much of a jump even if it existed anyway.

I'm a little lost. Is the 13 Mini still going to be for sale? I feel like it just went down $100 if I bought it on the site right now from what it was recently? Am I losing my mind?

Glad to know that I am not the only one around here who prefers the form factor of the mini versions. Now that they've gotten rid of the SIM tray along with the mini version, I guess I'll stick with my 12 mini a bit longer.

America is obsessed with anything big. The mini was a poor seller no matter what the mini owners claim otherwise. Apple only cares about what sells, not what a small minority wants. Look at the auto industry. It is dominated by SUV and trucks, there are fewer and fewer cars/sedans anymore. This is a perfect example of how American's are obsessed with big things.

I'm guessing they decided to just stick with the SE for people that want a smaller phone. Sucks for the people that actually want the new phone/features in a smaller screen size.

On the contrary, the U.S. was the only market that wanted a small phone. That market is dead.

The rest of world had already standardized around large phones. Even a $99 Redmi phone in China has a 6.53-inch display.

yes 13 mini remains for sale. No 14 mini is what people mean when they say "end of mini" as in no new models

Do Apple not go on holiday? It's bad enough only having one side card slot, but to have none? How will you use the phone in the Philippines for example?

To the answer the OP’s question in the thread title - No.

Yes, the 12 Mini was discontinued instead of moving down to the $499 slot, which also leaves no $499 phone in the lineup for the first time in a few years.

However, the 13 Mini is still available, and at $599 which is the same price the 12 Mini was selling for up until today. So that’s a plus.

What happens next year when the 15 lineup arrives? Will the 13 Mini be gone, leaving no Mini at all? Probably, yes. But you still have a year to pick up a 13 Mini so it might be a good idea to get one sometime next summer so it’ll last a few more years beyond that. Maybe a new smaller phone will come along later this decade, but maybe not (seems unlikely right now, but who knows).

Not, not America. This is my educated guess, but I believe most Americans don't really buy the largest Pro Max. Most Americans have multiple screens (iPads, laptops, TVs, etc) to enjoy their entertainment, and don't use public transportation.

The biggest large phone users are probably in Asia. That's how Samsung did a Galaxy Note and people went nuts. In Asia, most people use public transport, and they don't have many extra screen (for many, the phone is their only computer). So they want the largest screen phone to enjoy their entertainment whenever they are.

In my country, Xiaomi just announced the Poco C40. It's only $100, and it has 6.7" screen. :D

Buying anything from Xiaomi is like throwing your money away even if it’s only $100

I had no plans on upgrading but the rumored trade-in deals for my carrier (TMO) means I could get a 14 Pro for $200.

I played with a friend's 13 pro over the weekend in anticipation and found it not quite as heavy and unwieldy as I thought it would be.

Now that there are reports that the 14 Plus isn't selling or is perhaps selling worse than the 13 mini, what are you reckon?

It means nothing because the 14+ doesn’t launch until October 7 so to get a good idea of how well the phone will do it will have to wait until the first quarter of 2023 to give it a fair shot

So is the 14. I think Apple made a huge mistake by keeping the same SoC on a new model and thinking that people are gonna buy it simply because it's Apple. It seems like the 14 PM is selling pretty well.

Apple should come out with the iphone pro mini.

I believe there is a good chance Apple keeps the 13 Mini in the lineup next year. They can reposition the Mini as an affordable entry for the niche market that compact smartphones have now become. What hurt the Mini was the price. It was too close to the flagship iPhone in price and then you also had the SE as a much cheaper alternative. By next year Apple can offer the Mini at a starting price of $500 which I believe has the potential of being the sweet spot.

The Mini is a flagship though as the only difference between it and the Regular is size. I agree they should discount the 13 Mini year on year eventually making it an affordable entry level phone.

Most people haven’t used a phone one handed for years and value solid battery life and a large screen. I firmly believe the mini should have been marketed as a budget device/SE with 4g, single camera and a cheaper price point. But ultimately I think apples intention was to use the mini to raise the price points of the standard 12/13 and it worked.

Right. But it failed at that price point. I agree with you. By getting the starting price down I believe it will sell well. The main purpose of the Mini is the size. Match that small size with a smaller price and it has potential.
