cant charge battery, does not react on power button, and I still cant decide which iphone will be next.

- iphone 8 plus - good price, best mobile led display ever, but clunky
- iphone se and ipad mini - but man, paying for 2 devices while having basic net surfing/mail reading usage seems stupid
- iphone 11 - face id (meh), display meh!

oleds are not an option...

not thrilled by any of these options, but will have to decide soon...

Why is SE + an iPad one of the options?

Just get the phone and save your cash (unless you want/need the iPad)

iphone 11 is clunky bulky with inferior lcd, not attractive at all (yes, been using it at work for testing purposes)...
yeah, not excited about any option, iphones aint so exciting they used to be...

Wait, did you have an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus? If it's the regular 7, the 2020 SE is the perfect replacement. So just get that. Not sure why you would add an iPad mini into the equation.

If you originally have a 7 Plus, then just get the 8 Plus, or maybe just another 7 Plus. It's not the "best" value wise, but sounds like it would be the best fit for you.

How is it inferior, when the iPhone 7 you were using has the same 720p lcd screen?

No doubt. Just buy an 8 or 7 until something more appealing comes along. After all the 7 or 8 take pics, make/receive calls, text, surf the web, check emails etc etc etc just the same as any phone currently made.

🤔😂
maybe it is just me, but XR/11 lcd looks somehoq fuzzy to me (nothing to do with ppi) - to me liquid retina looks worse than classic led used in ip 6-8... and sure, if i want to go bulky way, 8 plus has superior display to 11...

i did have 6s plus, then regular 7 (which I thought would be just temporary solution - that lasted almost 3 years:) - recently iphone is my only device, so I am still playing with idea i would welcome bigger display..

Depends on how long you plan to keep it. I would not buy another 7 (or probably even an 8) now planning to keep it 3+ years again. If you’re looking for another phone to run well for 3+ years, get the SE or 11. If this is just to hold you over for now then another 7 (Or 7+) is fine.

Get the 8 Plus. I still miss mine :( What a beast. Plus, with this year supporting any iPhone that is running on iOS 13, guaranteed an extra year on top of a few years into the future.

Also, besides the powerful A11 bionic chip, you're gaining tons of new noticeable features like TrueTone, wireless charging, louder stereo speakers, fast charging, nice camera, etc etc

Clunky? Inferior LCD? Like to know where that comes from. Mr son has the 11 and it's a fantastic phone. I get it if it's too big, but it's the best of the phones you've listed. Now if size is a factor, SE is the clear choice.

At first I thought it was just a mistake, but then you said it again. The iPhone 6, 7, and 8 don't have LED displays. They’re LCD, just like the iPhone XR and 11. Liquid Retina, Super Retina, Retina HD... those are all just marketing terms. You said the screen is fuzzy but has nothing to do with ppi, when in reality that’s probably exactly all it is.

You want a bigger screen but you’re complaining about the size of the device being bigger and “clunky” as well. I mean, physics?

iphone 6 and others of course do have LED display, they do have IPS LCD display with LED backlight. And no, it has nothing to do with PPI, iphone 7 has same PPI aj XR and yet, I see text on XR little fuzzy in comparison to 7/8 (not mentioning plus as it has much superior display...)

If you’ve been using an iPhone 7 this long and haven’t been bothered by the screen, you’ll be fine with an iPhone 11. I’ve got an 8+ and even I struggle to see a huge difference in screen quality. You have to really study the screen to notice any differences which is not really normal usage anyway.

do not agree, had 6s plus and it was obvious instantly that 7 has inferior screen..and again, i know that 11 has same ppi as 7, but there is something on liquid retina that i do not like.. however, i am not trying to convince anyone about what i see, it may be my stupid eyes playing with me...

The only possible way you could 'instantly see that a 720p screen is inferior' to a 1080p screen is if you have perfect 20/20 vision and are holding the device within 5 inches of your eyes. The human eye can't process anything beyond 229ppi in normal circumstances and I find your claim rather difficult to believe. My wife has an iPhone 8 and I can't tell the difference between that and my 8 Plus. Under what conditions was this difference obvious to you, could you elaborate?
