Not completely true. Apple announced the App Store changes right before wwdc last year.
I'm cross-posting this from New iPad an Accountants Vision of a ProductHardware then. And there might well be an April event; just not new iPad Pros.
I'm curious... what are "Meteorological Seasons"? I've only thought about seasons conforming to the solstices and the equinoxes.First day of spring was 21 days ago. I go by the meteorological seasons.
However, if you come into the iPad market a year - 2.99 years after the last update, you're kind of hosed, because the sunset seems to be 3-5 iOS versions after when you got it.I've never once felt like my 12.9" iPad is slow. I don't really care if the iPad hardware is on a 2-3 year upgrade cycle since that's usually when I buy them. iOS updates for iPad, however, need to be on a yearly basis.
Occupational Hazard...Jesus. I'm so tired of constantly waiting around for Apple.
It's that "If I'm always negative, I'm never disappointed, and I can get joy out of saying that I was right."So, it's only March 22, and you already have decided for all of April there is nothing? Overreact much?

Thank you for teaching me! I suspected it had to do with the months as a block.It's very simple:
Spring = March, April, May
Summer = June, July, August
Autumn = September, October, November
Winter = December, January, February
So every season is three months long. The above is based on the average temperature of each month. With the three summer months being the warmest and the three winter months being the coldest.
What you describe, going by solstices and equinoxes are the astrological seasons.
Both are valid and accepted ways of defining seasons. But as the Met Office here in the UK (the official national weather and climate agency) uses the metrological definitions, I am much more familiar with that definition rather than the astrological definition. I personally prefer it, as I find it more logical and a simpler definition.
I really don't think its happening. They will be moving in April; so I don't foresee Apple having any event until WWDC. They wouldn't silently update some products, then have an event a month later.I think-Today or tomorrow the invites will come
I use an iPad 2, and for the two tasks I use it for: watching video, and writing, it is mostly fine, though slow at times.
But I'd like an iPad Pro 9.7, as the pencil would be useful for editing my writing, and I could do most of my computing on an iPad instead of on my Mac or iPhone.
I was hoping for an update this week, mainly 3D touch, but as we all know, that didn't happen.
I now wonder whether we will see anything before September ... basically in 6 months time!
I can't help thinking that if there was going to be an event before WWDC, Apple would have just briefly mentioned the new iPad released this week at the end of that event, like they did for the non-touchbar MBPs. Also, I can't see them releasing the new 10.5 design ahead of the new iPhone.
I know, nobody knows, I keep thinking that if I see one at a good price, I should get it. Thing is, I could, and maybe should, wait.
As a side note, I understand that Apple refurbs have new shells, does that mean new screens too? I'm just wondering whether the whole exterior is changed for the new buyer.
