My friend compared my S10 to his iPhone XS Max, and we both agreed the colors on the S10 were much better. I even adjusted for "Natural" vs "Vivid" Mode, True Tone, etc. S10 was much better when looking at the same picture. Plus the higher resolution and PPI was noticeable.

So the difference between the S10 and XR would most likely be even more pronounced.
Much better? Please don't ******** people that are looking for real answers.

S10 on the left vs Xs Max. The Galaxy AMOLED phones and tablets still really struggle with black crush in certain scenes. Also, the automatic color management doesn’t even work properly when switching from sRGB to DCI-P3. The Xs Max has the best overall AMOLED display on the market, I just wish it was at least 2K resolution.

Yeah the quality of Apple's AMOLEDs is incredible. Such a shame the XS/Max can't display video stretched out to the full screen width without the asymmetrical notch end cutting into the picture, like for example the OnePlus 6T can :(

XS Max does look better in those photos. When I compared a photo I took on both screens with my friend, the S10 clearly looked better in that particular scenario.

Sorry you don't like the answer, but that's what he said. So the only real answer is that the iPhone is much better, apparently.

But you wouldn’t want to as you’d lose 25% of the content with a 16:9 video. In fact watching 18:9 video is perfectly untouched on the Xs whereas the hole punch of the S10’s and Note 10’s interferes with 18:9 content. The only place where the notch offends is 21:9 content and that is annoying I will admit.
