steve looked great for a guy battling a life-threatening illness, and he got on stage to speak passionately and eloquently about his company's vision. it was inspiring. how many of us can say we have done the same thing? pounding away on your keyboard in your basement judging others who actually get out there and do something, or worse, spreading baseless rumors about them is pretty loathsome.

As to both of your examples, if it was a problem with the authorities he wouldn't be doing it, if what you allege in the first place is actually true.

I can't remember at this point, but has he said or is it assumed what illness he has? I know he pancreatic cancer that was cured, but he continued to be ill. I know he had a liver transplant--does anyone (outside of Cupertino) know what the transplant was for or why he is still ill?
I don't mean to make it sound like there isn't a continuum of health and that having had cancer would obviously take a toll on a person, but it seems like maybe it's something unrelated? He talked in his Stanford speech about how the cancer was a rare type that was curable, I thought.
Anyhow, I do wish him well. I was thinking how difficult it must have been for him to make his presentation. I started wondering if he gets treatments to be able to go, and whether he feels like he has to for the company, or whether he really wants to, or whether it's just too hard to let go.

It's a parking infraction.
At worst, he's being a dick, is all. Not a criminal.
So we started with white-collar crime - alleged stock manipulation, "nefarious" activities, "funny business with Apple's books", and SEC violations.
But when we rubbed a few ****ing brain cells together and remembered the news and figured out he was never charged with anything despite appearing in court several times, we busted all the charges down to parking infractions and traffic violations.
Does someone wanna start this thread over? How about we hear for the 900th friggin time how bad he looks? I kinda miss that after hearing it 899 times since 2009.
Its hard to say just how sick he is. Of course having some ungodly amount of money to spend on the best of the best can help, eventually he will die. Wether it be from his illness or in a freak accident he and all of us will pass away some day. I hate how critical people can be about a very ill person and how quickly judgements get passed. Who are you to say he doesn't look 'good at all.' Maybe he feels great and is on the road to recovery. I'm sure apple has a few hundred wannabe clones of S. Jobs working for them now waiting in line with the same views and ideas.
Having just watched the Keynote (or bits of it), I felt Steve looked perfectly healthy. His voice was quite worrying at the beginning, although when he spoke about iCloud his voice seemed fine again.
All I'm seeing here is Steve growing old. He's coming up 60 in the next few years. My granddad, already 60, looks pretty much the same.

Yeah, he looked a bit shaky at the start but seemed to perk up when it was time to announce his new baby.
I think some better fitting clothes would do his appearance the world of good.
Sadly, I believe your're right. The only reason he's survived this long is the unlimited resources he has to get what he needs without waiting. Liver's are very hard to get with many thousands of people waiting. When he needed one it was immediate.
So when you have that kind of influence, the ability to travel the globe for the finest treatments in the world, and an endless supply of money, the result is a bit of a prolonged period before the inevitable.
Yet that said, he may turn out like Elvis and always be with us.
