I've been playing with the new "App Folder" app all day today. It's kinda awkward at first, but they're actually starting to grow on me.

They're not as handy or smooth as they are on Android or iOS, although I appreciate that I can make them in 1x1, 2x2, and 2x4 tiles.

You should check it out. It only needs the Amber update.

By the way, you saw the Verizon Lumia Icon?

I have an 8X, so no amber or black for me. I have been keeping up with the Icon/929, but I ended up getting an LG G2 because I shattered the screen on my 8X. I'm going to give WP another spin down the road. If the Icon would have came out last month I probably would have gotten it.

Kinda off topic but related to WP8, I'm interested in an 8X, are WP's more customizable like Android? Or is there a "jail break" or something similar for Windows phones? Thanks.

Only customization is being able to set up icons and folders where you want them, change colors and use live tiles. I don't think there is any such thing as jail breaking a WP?

On WP7 there was some hacking for the HTC 's, but I'm not sure about the 8X. Otherwise WP isn't nearly as customizable as Android. If you search there was a thread or two on here that had some screen shots of WP start screens.

Unless I'm doing something wrong, it's really clunky to use.

I wish they would let you hold the tile and drag it over another tile and create folders that way.

Seems like a lot of work the way it's implemented now.

Nope, you are right. It is clunky, but I don't know if that is because it isn't part of the OS yet (need the Black update), since it is just an app. I think it is just a temp work around. Just a guess though.

If you have the 1020 and already have the Black update, you should have it built in already. Can you confirm to us that the feature is built in now (assuming you have the Black update already).

I got the Nokia 521 yesterday and download this app. I have to go into lots of the icons on the default home screen to see what program each one is. Can you assign text an icon which would make it easier and can you change the color of each icon individually instead of applying a theme with each one mostly the same color.

I gotta stay away from this forum. You folks cost me money.

I only wish that the folder opened up in an icon mode instead of a list...the list provides a small touch point when I would prefer something larger to hit. And I think it would look more in line with the ui if it were icons.
