Hope you enjoy your iPad, just look out for dead pixels after opening it, if you find one then take it back for a new one. Had a dead pixel on mine and took it back without hesitation. Apple case to me is an essential if you're taking it out.

We have 2 iPads at home. Both without screen protectors and both with good quality cases. Been this way since launch. No problem on either one!

I havent needed a screen protector (bought mine in June) but a case or cover is a must.

I think the leather covers are best...they protect the iPad and can also be used to prop it up when needed.
