Perhaps a hamper attachment for the top?

You could dump in some corn kernels and set Furmark to run. Could make a great Air Popper.

Nothing brings an office together like afternoon popcorn.

Or coton candy... Just as sweet as kool aid.

dust bin

I think the worst part will be the dust on the top. I'm not sure why anyone especially apple would not have some type of cover over the indent in the "can" design. I live in a remote area, and even in large buildings the high winds and dust manages to blow in quite a lot of red dirt into the ventilation system. I see dust all over this in a matter of time.

Dison will be offering a kit with not only a filter but also a stairs and upholstery brush. Will come in handy if the popcorn party gets out of hand.

^^^^That's Dyson, my friend. Something like this:

Not a joke topic, I am very curious.
Yeah, sure.

*yawn*

If businesses/professionals are going to use it, when would happen if someone mistakes it for a trash can and decides to throw trash (Or even worse, something like a empty/almost empty drink) at it?
The new MP is much smaller than a trash can, so your scenario is really not a problem in the RL.

My trashcan looks more like my 2008 MP than it does the newest ones coming out soon. Also, I'm not a complete idiot and probably wouldn't "accidentally" toss my trash into my computer, ever.

It probably creates a mini vortex, so I'll be the first one to put a styrofoam ball in it to watch it "levitate".

Or maybe an accessory like those fabric, "fake flame" cauldron things you see round Halloween.

Or sparkly streamers for Christmas. Very festive :)

It will get messier unless all of your drive bays and PCIe slots are empty (save for one boot drive and one GPU).

I admit there are probably many MP users like that, but looking at your sweet setup I am skeptical that yours would be empty inside!

Not in any appreciable way though.
My point is that MOST of my studio is outside my computer.
Certainly I have hard drives in the Mac Pro- I have two- the boot drive and the audio drive.
I also have a couple of externals for backup and archive.

The audio interface is external.
Everything else in my studio is external- keyboards, compressors, EQ's, Mic Pre's, speakers, cabling, patchbay, iloks etc.
That is all external.
One extra HD won't make a tiny bit of difference to how messy my studio is.
Mine isn't that messy though- I have everything on patchbays and can route any input to any output.

My point is though that for recording studios most of the stuff is outside the Mac Pro. One or two more things outside the box makes absolutely no difference to me.
