I start the dvd in dvd player, get the title number, use handbrake on that specific title. I use universal pre-set so it will play on all devices, the file doesn't get big. Then I use meta-x for the final step. The only problem I have is finding good artwork for the covers.

Try Amazon.com they sometimes have decent artwork, but for the most part I try to get it off the site of the company who directed it or website for the movie

I use RipIt. It costs money, but works very well.

It's a one click solution. Hit Compress and come back later.

Makes it easy to do a lot of DVDs.

Yup, I have 4 instances open right now. As soon as the compression starts, I duplicate the app and open the copy, eject disc, insert new one and hit the compress button. I've had up to nine instances LOL.

I've ripped almost my whole DVD collection.

My only gripes:
- no support for subtitles.
- sees some TV shows as one giant 4-5 hour episode.

But I've had 99% success on several hundred discs.

I use Metax and now Metaz for tagging the mp4 files.
