I've always enjoyed the experiences provided by the different desktop & mobile operating systems. Never having a need to declare one "the winner" since I don't get emotionally attached, it's educational, fun and never boring. To the best of my knowledge I've used nearly every OS available for many years.

My personal favs are OS X , Linux, & Win 7 on the desktop. Mobile favs are Android, iOS, Windows Phone, Open Moko (now defunct) Sybian on the E60/61 Nokias of years ago. Android & iOS being the dominate systems of the present day, does reduce the variety we once had.

Day to day my work involves Windows & Macs, Android & iOS, so it's pretty straightforward at this point.

I currently own a Nexus 4 and an iPhone 5. I also had an HTC 8X a while back but sold it cause I needed the cash and I wasn't using it as often as the others.

I've jailbroken the iPhone and rooted the Nexus. I just like messing around with phones for some reason.

Yeah I don't get people who get like that, seems very odd to me. Or don't get the people who get mad if someone doesn't like or says something bad about something they like, very strange

For me, I use multiple operating systems daily on my computers and phones/tablets. Most of the time I carry two phones with me (usually some Android device and an iPhone).

I built three computers to run three separate operating systems. My main rig is my PC/Windows rig. I also run a Hackintosh rig and a *lower-end* rig for Ubuntu.

For phones, I have a box of "dumb" phones still lying around somewhere. Then there's the Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus, GS2/3, Note 1/2, Inspire, Droid DNA, Razr Maxx, One X, iPhone 4/4S/5 and a Z10. Yes, I do need to sell off a bunch of these...but I would much rather keep them. Most of the time, I'm carrying my DNA or Note 2 along with the iP5 but from time to time, I also like to use the Z10.

For tablets, I mainly use an iPad 4 but I also have a TF700, Nexus 7 and 10 lying around.

I run various Linux distributions, OSX, iOS and Chrome OS. My daily driver is a Chromebook that was $199 (Acer Chromebook C7) for most things and when I need to work a spreadsheet or Word doc of any size I grab a Macbook Pro.

Chrome OS....meh. Not impressed but I bought it so I will use it until it's not reasonable to use it. It works, just not brilliantly in any way. OS X is my favorite OS due to stability and speed (plus Macs are just great machines), but I can tinker more within Linux distros to change appearance, desktop environment, etc.

I used to have Android phones with my Macs and iPad, grew tired of it. Having to download apps on to different devices became tiresome and costly. Words with friends is just one example. I just bought the play pack for $15 on my iPhone and can also use it on my iPad. If I still had an Android phone, I would have had to pay twice and I dont even think I could be playing on an iPad and continue my games on an Android phone.

Then we have iTunes. I just bought Jack Reacher today on my Apple TV and downloaded it to my iPad and iPhone for free. Again, if I wanted it on my Android phone or Android tablet, another $15. I could go on and on why mixing platforms becomes tiresome and costly. I dont do it anymore.

Windows phone 8 (HTC 8X)
Android (ICS & JB) HTC One X, HTC One
IOS (every iPhone since launch)
Blackberry OS 7 (Torch 9860 / Bold 9900)

I started with the Nokia N97 running Symbian. I must say it is the worse smartphone ever. Sluggish and buggy. However, hardware-wise, it has some really kick ass features. It has one of the best physical keyboards I have ever used. I might be biased since it is my first keyboard phone I used. The screen was easy to see in the sun. The coolest feature is the FM transmitter. I still use it to play music over my stereo at home. No need to buy BT speakers or other such accessories. I only use it as a music player now.

I use a BlackBerry Tour for work. As a communication device, it is pretty good. I don't really do much more with it. Hate the keyboard as the keys are too close together.

My primary phone now is a Galaxy S3. I had an HTC Desire Z before the battery died. I could get a hardware upgrade at the time, so I went for the SGS3. I pretty much prefer Android over anything else right now.

I've had limited experience with iOS as my wife has an iPhone. My experience with it is rather frustrating when setting the phone up with my wife. When things on an Android device takes me several minutes and the same things take me hours, I think something is just wrong. Why is it so difficult to move contacts from another phone to an iPhone? Why is it so difficult to move a ring tone from another phone to an iPhone? These tasks were extremely simple on her old Galaxy Q.

I like Android for my phone and iOS on my MP3 player and tablet. Perfectly happy that way and don't intend on changing that anytime soon.

I currently have:

Nexus 4
Sony Xperia Z
Sony Xperia TX
Sony Xperia S
HTC One X
HTC Incredible S (used as a GPS in the car)
iPhone 4S (work provided)
Nexus 7
Retina iPad
About to get a iPad mini from work
15" Retina Macbook Pro

Previously owned: Nexus, HTC Desire, HTC Sensation, Nokia N9, Nokia E6, Nokia E51, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad, iPad 2, Motorola Xoom and Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7. A couple Blackberries that I hated so much I refuse to remember their names :)

Also had 4 different Macbook Pro's and the 11" and 13" Macbook Air's.

I appreciate all of them differently but like the iPhone the least, which is funny because I used to love it.

While writing this post I realised I have a serious problem :)

I like to change around every so often

Around 2008 time I was using OS X, had an iPhone and an iPod Touch

After that I wanted something different, so got a Blackberry for a couple of years

Currently OS X, Android Phone/Tablet and iPod Touch

I fancy a change with things again, so shock to many, I am looking forward to replacing OS X with Windows 8

Couple of years from now, who nows, all Apple again, could be all windows, I have no idea for the future, see what products come out

I run Windows 7 in bootcamp on my iMac but tried Windows 8 and just couldn't get used to it so reverted back. They have just made it so hard to do simple things in it now.

I would try that, just my Mac is getting a bit old now (mid 2007) and gets slow at times (if I change my MacBook will stay as a dedicated media server only)

I have read all the issues people have with Windows 8, but for me it looks quite nice (only used it briefly)

If I do hate it, then the cost of a Windows Laptop is not great, so could go back to Mac after about a year if needed

Just to add, 95% of what I do is in the Chrome browser, so OS doesn't bother me too much

I have a MacBook pro, nexus 7 tablet and a Galaxy SIII which just replaced my iPhone for my own use. At work I use Windows 7 and a company BlackBerry. They all have very strong points and very weak points both in the software and hardware and I enjoy using all of the different devices and software.

But overall I perfer osx and android the most.

We have finally phased out our last Windows machine a month ago (now they're all in closets). This will be my last Android phone before I move to the iPhone again. We have two Kindle Fires, but I think I'll be replacing them with iPad Minis when it comes time (that could be 5 years though ).

It's not necessary to use multiple operating systems anymore, at least in this house. There hasn't been anything I've come across that I've needed Windows to use in a loooong time. There's always the problem where the Android stuff isn't made for Windows, but ADB on the Terminal works fine.
