Sports scores: For now, use a sports app (ESPN ScoreCenter, for example) and set Wake On Wrist Raise to Last Used App.

Sleep tracking: There are apps for that. Sleep Watch is a new one.

I'll add on --

The beauty of the AW, and of smartwatches in general, is that they're not stuck with the same functions (or lack of functions) over their lifetime.

You buy a regular watch with three hands and a date, and that's all it will ever do. Buy a G-Shock with, say, a Time Memo function, and the model gets refreshed with a countdown timer replacing the memo, and you're stuck with the memo function on the one you already bought.

I'll never see sports scores on my G Shock. I'll never get sleep tracking on my Seiko. My Citizen, as slick as it is with solar charging and radio sync, will never show me weather radar.

How is Sleep Watch ??? Does it tell how good sleep you got?

I dunno -- it says how long I slept (last night seems accurate) and how long I was awake (last night says 0 minutes, but I remember using the bathroom).

There are others, too, right? And we can always try writing our own apps.

I bought my Apple Watch at release. I liked it in the beginning, but as time moved on I noticed the shortcomings more and more. Ended up selling it as it was more or less useless.

Now I bought myself an Omega. It will never go out of style, it will outlive me as long as I take good care of it, I don't have to charge it or change battery and it will keep its value much better than any tech gadget

LOL...I went the opposite direction. I have two Rolex (Turn-o-graph and Yachtmaster), both mechanical. Trust me, Swiss mechanicals become a sink hole for your money. Omega now charges around $400-600 every 5 years to maintain. I had Omege HourVision with their famous 8500 caliber. 2 trips to Omega factory to fix a stuck date wheel...still not fix when I sold it. My 2 Rolex so far faired better, but at $800+ each every 5 years get real old real fast! And just you know it, things always go wrong around 3-5 year period...either time gets way off or date gets stuck or crown won't wind anymore. Talk about built-in obsolescence in parts!!!

Yeah, Swiss mechanicals will outlive you...at least the block of stainless steel and sapphire crystal...the insides? Not so much. No charge it? Put it on your desk for 48 hours and see if it still ticks!

Keep value?!! LOL. The ONLY brands that keeps value are Rolex, PP, and AP. The rest drop their value by at least 50% as soon as you leave the store! Don't believe me? Go to a buyer of used watches and ask value of your Omega. (I have.). And even Rolex drop their value too.

Just think...you're right...every 3 years or so, I can get a brand new Apple Watch for less than what you spend on restoring/repairing your Omega.

Tr00f.

Or buy a Seiko 5 (or step up to an SKX/SARB/SARX) every ten or twenty years and run it into the dirt. ;-)

(no intentions of servicing my SKX009)

Now that it's been out for over a year and for those who use it, would you buy it again? Are you using it as often as you thought?

Those who have one and don't find them selves using it often, what are your thoughts?

At the beginning, i didn't want one. I always have my iPhone with my so i didn't need the notification feature. I don't run or exercise (at least not as often as i should). Now, i just like the looks of it more than anything. the interchangeable bands, different faces and colors. I have 2 old timex watches that i wear on a daily basis (go with my work attire) and would really like the 42mm SS model. Seeing the sales pop-up a little more often, i may snag one but my mind changes often about the use of it other than to tell time.

So, would you buy it again?
Definitely. In fact, I'm waiting for the Apple Watch 2 announcement, hopefully, at tomorrow's event.

I hear some say that they bought the sport but wish they had spent the extra for the stainless. I am one that just doesn't see the stainless as a good value. Especially considering that this is not a Rolex. I am not going to wear it forever and hand it down to my child. This is a watch that will be obsolete in a few years. Hence a $300 price point rather than buying something like the Apple Watch Edition.

Well I agree what you have mentioned, however, the quality of sport version is poor.... I think people can buy the cheapest version of SS model with sport band. At least you will get a pleasure when using it.

The quality is poor? In what way? The sport is actually more resistant to shattering than the stainless. There is no "cheapest" version of the SS model. There are three levels, two sizes. All 42 mm stainless cost the same. The bands are interchangeable across the whole product line.

OK, just got a light used 42MM SS AW w/ black sports band and comes with AC+. can't wait to get it on. Now the hunt begins for some 3rd party bands.

I replaced 4 Apple Watches Sport because of the paint issue.

I have worn an Apple Watch Sport 42 mm in Space Gray since release day. I wear it every day. I have had no issues with paint. My 13-year-old daughter has worn an Apple Watch Sport 38 mm in White since September 2015. She wears it every day. She's had no paint issues.

Maybe I had a bad luck, however, next time I will buy Apple Watch Sport silver version to avoid paint issues or SS version.

The 735XT is freaking awesome. I have had mine for about two months, and I wish I bought it at launch. I use it for swimming, biking, and running. The screen is huge and easy to read in all conditions. And it is also an excellent activity tracker and it does some pretty decent smartwatch functions. I used to wear both my AW and the Garmin while exercising, but I cut back to just the 735XT to simplify things.

... And I've given in to temptation and ordered a 735xt. The recent Apple price hikes on the Mac line up have convinced me it won't be getting cheaper while the post-Brexit pound continues to fall. Thank you for your advice.

Fun. You will love it. I am on a nutty wearable quest, but I enjoy all the data. I just added up that I have $1K USD of wrist wearable tech that I wear and use every day: Apple Watch (during waking hours), Fitbit Charge 2 (24/7 for HR and sleep tracking), and Garmin 735XT (for all workouts). It is fun having all of the ultimate toys.

Absolutely yes.

I bought mine for workout tracking. I use it every day. It has helped me stay on track and achieve & increase my goals.

Having said that, there would have to be a significant update to make it worth while, or the death of my current watch.

ABSOLUTELY! I love my apples watches! I wear one or the other 24 hours a day, except when I'm in the shower! (I did wear one in the shower a couple of times and the speaker acted funky after that for a while... til it dried, I assume??)

My biggest issue with the new one is do I buy 2 and get rid of both of these? Or just buy one and not have the new features on one? UGH! Decisions!?

I'd like to have a problem like that...

Stole profit from a store knowing you wouldn't keep it. Awesome.
I bought one only to try for a week because I couldn't afford it (was a student). I was sad to return it. Was way better than I expected given the reviews at the time were saying "meh it's ok". I felt free from my phone. It's almost subconscious how tied to our mobile phones we are now, so when i could still get those notifications without having to look at my phone, it was great. I also really enjoyed the fitness tracking and heart monitor for running as it was accurate for me, and I really liked the activity app.

Will definitely be buying AW2 if GPS is included.
