Unified Style

Personally, I love using the unified (Mail 2.0) style. Looks a million times better than the other gray. The one issue I have is podcasts in the library. That is wrong. Even on iTunes.com Apple says, "organize podcasts in your podcast library." One would think I could organize music in my music library right? No, wrong. Come one 5.0.1!

They are sorta rounded. But what's the big deal about rounded corners? There still rounded, just not as much.
The big deal is that they are rounded by a different radius than all other corners on my screen.l I find this very disturbing.

I like iTunes. I think iTunes 5 is much better than 4.9 because it fixed a few quirks that really bothered me before. Really the only thing I would change in iTunes is I'd like it to let me put Artist as the left most column so I could arrange it Artist > Album > Song name. But that's a very minor thing. Mainly I'm quite satisfied with iTunes 5.

You can just drag the column headers into the order you want them, no? Or have I misunderstood what you're asking?

You understand me correctly, but as far as I can tell, you can drag them all wherever you want except for some reason it wont let me make make anything but song Name be leftmost. At least that's the way it is for me in iTunes 5.

Yes it appears Name seems to treated as a special column for some reason. Maybe in 5.1?

I really like the new itunes myself...although there seems to be alot of compliants about the look of it...why can't they come out with different skins??? it seems fairly simple and would make alot of people happy...the one thing that i really done like is there is no "gap-less" song option, although that is not just itunes 5 it is every one of them but change those 2 and I think it would be 100x better

This makes me wonder. People have been able to hack the calculator to make their own skins, why can't it be done with iTunes as well? There probably is a reason why not, I just don't know what it is. When I open the package contents of iTunes the only graphics I see are the application icons like the one attached. Maybe someone who knows more about this stuff than I do could find a way to do it.

I assume you're talking about the Dashboard calculator, which is a completely different beast from an application. In simple terms, Dashboard widgets are basically special-purpose web pages, and as such are very easy to modify. Applications are not, and so aren't.

It's possible, although probably needs to be done at the OS level, as I assume most apps just say "draw me a metal window with X dimensions", and that's what the OS does. To change the style, the OS's entire look needs to be modified, which many folks have done, if you Google around a bit for themes.
