I'm in Irvine and I can't say whether or not it's a coincidence, but since the useless MMS rollout (I don't know anyone who uses it) OR maybe since the 3.1 update, i have the hardest time making a call. I touch the screen to make a call, it transitions to the "calling" screen and sits in silence for a while. I've tried waiting for MINUTES and nothing so I have to just keep trying wasting about 30 sec to a minute per attempt.

When I switched to ATT so I can have the iPhone, I knew ATT was pretty craptastic, so I was prepared for this, but sometimes i drives me crazy...it shouldn't take 1-3 minutes just to connect a call!

Anytime I have these sorts of problems, which is rarely, I go temporarily change my network settings to EDGE. Problem solved. The iPhone should do switching between 3G and EDGE seamlessly like other phones, but in my expereince it doesn't. I think if it did there would be 50% fewer complaints on this forum about AT&T's network.

I've never had bad reception at home, but since yesterday I've had a lot of times when I've gotten the no service for reception. Looks like I'll throw it on edge til this blows over. I'm in garden grove/Anaheim

I've been having more problems at work in Laguna Hills but no problems at home in Garden Grove and Santa Ana.
But today i have a NO SIM messege going on and off. I had to restart my phone a couple of times pull out the sim and it takes a while to turn back on again weird weird.
Im pretty sure its 3.1 and desperatly waiting for 3.2 update cause my iphone out the box was beyond perfect for me with reception 3g everything.Anyone know how the developing is going with that?

I had that non-activation, slide for emergency/connect to iTunes this morning and i had to do a complete restore on my phone to fix it...(trust me I tried everything else)...during the restore my battery was at 100% at 8am, by 11am after the phone just sitting on the desk, it was at 50%...it seems to have calmed down, but it seems like something strange happened.....

NOTE: Prior to to this morning, the phone has worked flawlessly since I purchased it this past July
