Okay before I get started just want everyone to know that I am not talking crap about iPhones. So I dont want this to become and bashing thread...
I have owned all generation iPhones and my last one was a 16GB 3GS. All the iPhones I'ved had serve me very well and I still enjoyed it up to this date. My wife still has her 3GS and my 2 kids have iPod Touches.
Over the last couple of months, I just got bored with my iPhone and wanted something new. So finally I decided to sell my 3GS and buy me a Nexus phone. At first I was hesitant. I have read so many reviews about the Nexus one most of them are good some are bashful but I thought I'd give myself a chance to try it...
As soon as I got it out of the box, OMG I was like a young kid again. I turned it on and played with all the settings. It took me a couple of hours getting used to the interface but everything is a breeze from then on. One thing I have noticed is that the screen is amazing. Navigating through applications was an ease with no lags. The best part of it all is that when Im in a middle of downloading an app, I get a notification mail that I have an email, I open it, check it and delete while at the same time my downloading is still running in the background. I have a Tmobile account so not sure what the speed is for att's 3GS. Anyway, I have $9.99 web2go data plan and I'll tell you, navigating through different browsers are fast and easy compare to my 3GS using the web2go plan. I also noticed in my APN settings that I have a 3GS data running. I checked with my t-mobile website and made sure Im not getting charged for the 3GS data plan which Im not. The camera is amazing! when they say its a 5 megapixel camera, it produces a 5 megapixel output. They are not kidding. The battery life is ok. Its about the same lifespan as my iPhone but the best part is that it is removal so I can always get a spare one. Live wallpapers are nice but they eat out my battery just like the video wallpapers for my jailbroken iphone. Google maps is awesome but the GPS turn by turn voice needs a major update. Voice is so muffled I could barely here what she was saying. GPS is very accurate though and thats what's important.
Overall, switching to Nexus one was a very good experience for me and it works really well since Im with Tmobile anyway. One thing Im not going to miss with my iPhone is the waiting for a new unlock and jailbreak to come out every time there's a new firmware update...
