So Scheduled Summary needs to be on and set to a specific time, the apps need to be added to the schedule, AND Summarize Previews needs to be on, correct.

I didn’t have Summarize Previews on. Will see if that does it. Thanks.
BINGO! Enabling Summarize Previews was the missing step for me.

Hope I like this Summarize stuff. (Also hope this bug eventually gets squashed and we don’t have to enable stuff we don’t wan’t to get things to operate properly.)

Agreed. I wasn't sure about having my notifications summarized, but I'm quite liking it so far and will probably leave it on. It's nice to just have one notification summarizing all the Teams and email notifications I missed. You can of course tap them to see the actual notifications, the same as before.

Also, circling back to your previous post. You don't need to use 'Scheduled Summary'. I have that turned off.

Thanks, @iStorm

So to simplify for others, these are my settings which appear to fix the issue:

Apple Intelligence is ON

Then, in Notifications settings:
Scheduled Summary is OFF
Show Previews is ALWAYS
Summarize Previews is ON (and all apps are enabled)

Been noticing a delay but I had everything everyone mentioned on but still delay in notifications , edit I just noticed since 18.1 update it changed my alert settings had everything on but alert deeper in mail configuration

Same as above. I just installed the 18.2 RC and push notifications are instant again. Issue is fixed for me.

You need to turn Notification Summaries ON for the app(s). Or are you saying that didn't work for you?

Either:
  • Turn Apple Intelligence off
  • Turn on Notification Summaries for the affected apps
I did the second one, but hopefully they do get this fixed.
On my iPhone 16, if I turn ON Notification Summaries, ALL my apps are enabled. To just enable Authenticator would require me going through 200 apps and turning them off. Thanks Apple.. sigh...

Oof, that doesn't sound fun. It was the opposite way for me - all the apps were disabled (guessing because I chose 'Not Now' when it asked if I wanted to use Notification Summaries during the initial setup). Did you happen to tap 'Summarize All Notification Previews' and then turn it off later?

Either way, it sounds like the issue has been fixed 18.2, so you shouldn't have to do my workaround anymore. I ended up liking the summaries and will probably leave it on.

It worked faster on a limited basis today. Monday, when I’m back in the office and going server to server doing work, will be a true test.
