TL;DR Stop disabling iOS features you never know what other features/apps depend on them.

I remember disabling 3D Touch when I first got my iPhone 6s Plus because it was buggy and driving me nuts. Then I realized I wouldn't be able to see the fish dance when I pressed the lock screen.

I had a tough choice after that.

My wife reset the home button to work like iOS9, turned off Hey siri, and disabled raise to wake. I told he that Jony Ive, Tim Cook and the ghost of Steve Jobs were going to break in to our house and stand over her bed at night to frighten her when she woke up and question why she broke her phone.

How did she accomplish that?

Reread what you bolded. You bolded the home button being changed to iOS 9. There is zero mention of slide to unlock.
Yes. That is correct. She only changed the home button. She did not turn "slide to unlock" back, mainly becuase that not possible without jailbreak. But is she could she would.
