Any manufacturer can put out vaporware.

Real hardware tends to be a shadow of that, primarily due to costs, and quite frankly Sony doesn't have a good track record in updating software, nor are they standing on very securr financial ground. I will be surprised if they end up building this phone to those specs and still manage to keep it within a suitable price range. If not, expect it to sell about as well as the rest of their phones. (That isn't saying much.)

By the way, no one uses iron in a phone. That was a dead giveaway on these so-called specs.

If half of those specs come to tjat phone, that will be pretty damn nice.

If all that comes to be true, ill be in line as well but just seems pretty outrageous to have those specs coming out.

If this phone with these specs were to come out at under $700 contract free or under $300 through a carrier and it was supported by CyanogenMod, I'd be all up on that.

It would be an absolute beast if most of the specs turned out to be accurate. Although I have my doubts on 4K video recording.

Specs are nice, but i imagine next year this will be the same thing for all the flagships... When is this rumoured for?

I just hope Sony can sort out speakers this time, xperia Z and xperia Z tablet both have recieved a lot of critism for their tinny sounding speaker output.

And please don't skimp on the viewing angles this time Sony.

The new UI looks nice & clean too, though not keen on round buttons for calculator.

probably will never even make it to a US carrier, and it will most likely be well over $700 contract free. Wasn't the xperia Z something like $800+ contract free?

Meh!. These "latest and greatest" specs dont impress me anymore. I would be better off with an S4 and Zero lemon 7500 Mah Battery. Now thats what is impressive , a phone that can last 3 days.

I think that is really where phones can make the next big leap. Battery life. I use a nexus 4 and it is perfectly suitable for everything I do. The only thing that would make it better is the screen and battery life. The crazy specs and snapdragon 800 are useless unless you are playing games IMO.

Meh, Sony has to do more than offer nice specs to get people to buy their phones. They need to fix their RF performance, battery life, and above all, software support. They are at the back of the pack with LG and HTC

By the time this is out samsung will probably put these specs in their Note 3 or GS5 and it will not matter lol.

The ZL is a forgotten affair nowadays. Funny how everyone talked about it for a couple months after unveil and then everyone bought a HTC One or GS4 with just a few actually buying it.

He did say *was* and you have to recall that the Xperia Z was only released by Sony in May this year in North America (the ZL was the only officially released Sony Xperia Z series up until then). At this point, the S4 and HTC One were out and there was no way they could release the phone at anything other than a lower price point. Here is a truly wishful-thinking offering from Best Buy ($899) :)

Any bets on Sony ruining this "flagship" release with a TN display, as they've done with the Xperia Z?

Also: nothing on that rumored spec list (except Snapdragon 800) tickles my fancy.

I would agree, but not many "amazing" camera phones yet... with Nokia pumping out a Windows Phone and Samsung introducing an ugly ass Galaxy Zoom.
