Specs on the paper mean nothing.

agree, if it works aswell as you say it does now in 2 years time id be very surprised, i swear windows computers are designed to decompose over time just like new cars...all my macs back to my G3's and G4's are still **** hot as far as im concerned, false economy im afraid! apple makes sure its products are a lot more perfected before release and the components work well together instead of just sticking every single new component that comes habdashdly into a computer every five minutes! id rather wait, pay the premium and enjoy their longer life...

also i dont think bluray has exactly "caught on" yet.

What if you cut them in stone? :D What's your point? Believe me if one computer has USB 3.0 and another one has USB 2.0 - on paper - you will notice the difference in real life.
And what if you don't have USB3 devices?

My point is you can't judge only on specs. Comfort of use, built quality, after sale service are important point too. And OS is also a major decision factor. And as good as 7 is, it's definitively behind macOS for my use.

Who cares if its zip file is compressed in 10s instead in 15s? Few people in the world but me not.

I like the beautiful object, with high assembly quality which are great to use. And MBP is one of the best laptop, even it has poorer specs on paper than some others. PC with crappy plastics, meaningless buttons everywhere are no more for me.

Comfort use and built quality are reflected in the specs too. If you see the light-weight SONY VAIO Z built from carbon-fiber, you know that it will not break your back. 10s vs 15s is normally a non-issue but if you do video editing and have to wait for video encoding to finish 15 hours instead of 10, you might think twice.

Quality? What about the MacBook? Lovely machines they are.

I'd think his FW is easily better built. I know my Vaio F is better built than a MacBook, by a far cry.

Yep, there are some problems, nothing is perfect... But Apple takes care about this problem and change the default piece without any discussions... After sale service is another point not mention in the specs...

That's not always true.
I only had 2 Apple products, and it was true the two times.
- I had the problem you raised in your previous post for my MB ==> replacement in 1 hour in a premium reseller store
- I had a problem with my iphone ==> they give me a brand new one in 5 minutes in an Apple store

I speak only about my own experience and the Apple after sale service is the best I ever deal with for a technology product.

I don't know the Sony or Dell quality of service, but I hear it was quite good also. But speaking about sony, I can say Sony-Ericson is a piece of crap in this domain.

I have had many Macs, and my experiences have varied over time. Once, they even replaced a DOA machine without question, and with a better model. On the other hand, I've had times where I had to argue with Apple for months on end to get a bad situation righted, all the way up to emailing that sjobs@apple email address.

I've had mixed reactions with store staff, generally I've found the genius bars to be way overwhelmed and the staff either tired or rude. Just saying!

Compared to Sony, however, Apple's support is great. My F series has a defective power supply, and they're making me go through some ridiculous hoops to get it replaced.

Dell's customer service is horrible.

I have the VERY SAME computer. I picked it up in Best Buy last January for around $712.

Ok, the computer itself is great. I've upgraded to Windows 7, it's smooth, and its wonderful to use. BUT, I have had problems with the hardware. The barrels (hinges) located on either side of the screen (with the power button on one side and the power input on the other) were loose from the very beginning. I didn't think too much of it until one day where the power input one snapped off. It still works (charges) but it is hanging dangerously, kind of like a loose tooth. I sent it in to Sony last week, paying them $120 just to see what was wrong. Turns out I have to replace the entire laptop housing, which costs $400!
I did not do the repair.

Just a warning! I would NOT recommend this computer due to this hardware defect. My uncle has the same model and has had the SAME issues as well.

On the moon.
I just have one thing to point out.

http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=37255

The T6600 is NOT 32nm or built off of the i5/i7 cores.

In fact, there will never be a 32nm Core2 processor, as the Core2 series on a whole is on its way out the door.

The T6600 is an identical core due to what is shipping in the Macbook/Macbook Pro laptops, just a different model.

Yes, it's nice, yes, it's fast. But it's not an Core i-based processor, it is based off of the Core2 architecture.
