Those are all quoting the same "report" (smartChk advertisement). How are those links "more data"? Is this how kids do research these days?
so all these sites are wrong? They got it all wrong...but you on the other hand.... know more than them?
Because if they report bogus news they lose reputation and readers.

Who is this aimed at? I am probably older than you....

Download the Q2 2016 State of Mobile Device and Health Report to get key highlights, including:

  • Out of the 58 percent of iOS devices that failed, iPhone 6 had the highest failure rate (29 percent), followed by iPhone 6S (23 percent) and iPhone 6S Plus (14 percent).
  • In analyzing the causes of iPhone performance issues, crashing apps (65 percent), WiFi (11 percent) and headset (4 percent) were found to be the primary culprits.
  • Despite their tremendous popularity and record-setting growth rates, Snapchat (17 percent), Instagram (14 percent) and Facebook (9 percent) dominated the list of crashing iOS apps.

Q1 report from the same group: Android crashes more. Accurate.

Q2 and Q3 report from the same group: iPhone crashes more. Inaccurate.

I see how this works.

No, that wasn't my point. How it works is:

Q1: clickbait headline
Q2: opposite clickbait headline
Q3: variation on first clickbait headline
Etc...

Rinse, repeat. Hopefully with all the free advertising tech sites give us, sales go up.

Fair enough. Perhaps when a study you deem more reliable comes along, you can share.

In the meantime, I don't find it at all surprising that Apple is losing in certain areas. They have been for some time now, including the battery experience (e.g., longevity, quick charge, wireless charging, etc.). Hopefully the iPhone 8 will right some of these wrongs, especially if they can push the wireless charging feature to the next level.

I'm optimistic considering Apple is saving it all for the 10th anniversary iPhone.

iOS 'usage' != SOT
How about that battery life?

That's impressive, the iPhone was pretty lame..all I've ever heard from iPhone users, is how impressive the battery life is, all the while I'm wondering how they did it but it seems to be BS.
That, coupled with the app failure rate being higher than android and the so called superior camera being anything but...

Life isn't so bad on Android...

Is this on topic?

Not surprised iPhone burns battery fast when actually using the phone. Standby is where it reigns king. I left work 30 minutes ago listening to music and browsing the net and I lost 30% already.

Not saying I don't believe you but 30 minutes and you lost basically 1/3 of your battery listening to music and browsing the web? So by that measure an hour n a half and your phone is dead. Don't think I've owned a recent smartphone that was that bad.

Life isn't bad on Android, but if you run this test again in 6 months...

Not to mention the smaller iPhone has been a battery struggle for Apple since the split into two devices.

What will be different in 6 months?

Hopefully it doesn't get an update like iOS 10.1.1 that causes battery implosion with battery drain and phone prematurely shutting down at 25 to 40% battery left.

Being an owner of the iPhone 7 Plus and an iPhone 6,I assure you it really is that bad on the smaller variant which is why I got a Plus this time around. If the smaller iPhone 7 is anything like the iPhone 6 , then it will need to be charged thrice a day to get by while the bigger device lasts around 1.5 days with moderate use. There is a huge gulf between the Plus and Non Plus and I think Apple does it on purpose to force people to get the bigger model. They are gonna do it again next year when only the Plus/Pro model gets the OLED while the smaller phone doesnt even get the dual camera

One of my phones is a 6s and I've never had battery life that bad where listening to music and browsing the web it drops 30% every half-hour. You're talking about 1 1/2 hours and it dies. Even other phones I've owned it's not that bad. When I had a 6 it wasn't that bad either.

A bit off topic, but my LG V20's battery rivals the iP7+

I consistently get around 7 hrs SOT on the LG !

Why would you want to use the 7+ for the comparison? People on these forums always claim the lower screen resolution on iPhones help extend battery life. "More than 1080p is a waste"
I'm not one of those people. I want all phones to be pushing the envelope of screen tech. But that isn't why I said what I did.

I simply believe that all the phones on the list should have been the top flagship device from the perspective company (largest phone with biggest battery).

Yeah I agree, he should have used the plus.

I guess he used what he had.

No BS here. I always own at least one Android phone and one iPhone. Right now I actually have two of each that I regularly use: iPhone 7, iPhone SE, Galaxy S7 Edge, and Moto X 2015. The battery life for those goes from best to worst in that order, with the two iPhones about tied. The Galaxy S7 Edge isn't very far behind, but it still isn't as good as my iPhones. The Moto X's isn't even close to any of the first three.

I don't really care who doesn't believe me and I'm not about to do some hours long video to test and prove it. Just stating that, in my own experience, I've always gotten better battery life from an iPhone than any Android phone I've ever owned, and standby time is definitely one area where the iPhone crushes Android phones.
