i'm not on my mac right now, but i know you can daisy chain inputs using the Aggregate Device Editor found in the Audio/MIDI Setup (in Utilities). i'm pretty sure the same would work for output, but i haven't tried it myself.
you can for example, link the built-in mic as well as the line in.

I'm going to check this out. If you have any more information on doing it this way, I'd greatly appreciate it.

By the way, I changed my user ID to this one. I'm the OP. Thanks!

Ok. I messed around with Aggregate Device Editor. This looks like exactly what I want, but I had no luck. I was able to select my new aggregate device and everything, but it still only played my external speakers through iMic, not my internal speakers. Does anyone have experience with this Mac feature? I'd greatly appreciate some guidance on what I'm doing wrong. Thanks in advance!

Not trying to be rude, but the site IS called MAC Rumors, so it's only for Macs.

In the olden days, you could not use the internal speakers and the headphone jack simultaneously without physically messing with the jack. It is a physical connection that makes the switch when you insert the plug.

Today, however, it's possible that Apple is using a more sophisticated method. I doubt it though.

i've wondered about this in the past as well but I, like many others can't find a solution for using line out to speakers + internal speakers at the same time. The only option for quick switching from internal speakers to line out would be adding an additional usb DAC to your computer. You can then switch between sound out to 2 separate devices but can't output sound to 2 devices at the same time

Using a decent external USB DAC would bypass the internal DAC which would result in much better sound quality.

Creation of new peripheral output in audio/midi configuration works for me.

What for it all? For Tv, enhace of sound (e. g. when you have broken right speaker), useful when you have good quality in headpones and bad in speakers.

I am trying this, with no luck... Any suggestions? I am working with a mid/late 2015 15in, 1tb, 16gb, 2.8i7... maybe a couple screenshots would help, if you'd be so kind :)
