...personally, I don't like the way these fake bands show too much of the lug, where the straps actually join - notice how the leather strap, even though it sits as far right as possible, still shows the lug to the left (where the arrow is pointing!!) :

...maybe its my OCD but it makes the watch look off centre to the starp!!

Thanks for the name of the seller - I found him on eBay, and bought a Space Black Link Bracelet from him. It arrived today - excellent condition and really well packaged. Worth a try if you want to save some money and find the price of a new Bracelet from Apple a little steep.

Just got the silver Milanese loop. The 42mm version is on clearance at Best Buy for $89.

I dunno. The silver lugs look a little weird on the space black SS.

I also got a saddle brown classic loop from BB last week for $129 (open box). Looks awesome but it’s too small one loop, too big on the next one. Annoying.

Both might go back and I’ll just bite the bullet for a black link one.

Where did you find the lugs and the screwdriver to replace the lugs?

The screws are officially a Pentalobe P2/2PL though in some cases I found the 3PL size worked a bit better. Apple uses threadlock on their screws so you kind of have to be careful you do not strip them trying to remove them. I have a set of Wiha 267-series screwdrivers, but you can usually find cheaper ones that should work as well.

As for the lugs, I used LUVVITT from Amazon.

Thank you! I want to put my Hermès band on my series 4. It’s my favorite band I own, and haven’t been able to use it.

I use the Apple Link Bracelet - Spaceblack. It's absolutely gorgeous. For running I use the Product Red sportband.

EDIT: Rip, I just realized i've already posted in this thread. Sorry not sorry.

Is there a difference in the T2 and P2 screwdriver head? I ordered the T2 and it wasn’t working. Just ordered a set with the P2.

Best I can tell they are identical. iMore's article about swapping lugs used a P2 pentalobe screwdriver from iFixit which is a 0.8mm head.

Someone on an iFixit thread asking about the Apple watch band lug screws said they were "IPR3 , TS3".
https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/230377/Pentalobe+Screws+and+Apple+Watch

My Wiha 267 pentalobe set is labeled PL1 through PL6. Supposedly the PL1 is the 0.8mm, but I found it too small. The PL2 and PL3 worked better for me.

I have to admit it was a pretty tough fight at times to get them out without stripping them, both for the Apple bands and the third-party Hermès band. On the Apple bands, I was able to easily remove one lug on one half of the bands, but getting the other lug on the other band half out was a real fight without stripping them. The Hermès was just a pain with both lugs / halves.

On the plus side, you only need to get one side (screw) of each lug out as the center pin comes apart in the middle so you can just pull one side out and slip the entire thing off.

Fortunately, the LUVVITT lugs screws came right out and went right back in without any fuss.

Yeah I got a set in last night, and I couldn’t get the screwdriver to fit. The T2 was too small and the T3 wouldn’t fit in it at all. I order another one to try it out. I really want to put the black lugs on it. I wish it wasn’t this much trouble.

Thanks for the help!

Can you post in here when you find a working screwdriver? I’ve had the same issues, I can’t find one to get the screws off of the official leather bands.

I have given up. Bought two sets and neither work. Curious if Apple would take them off for you. Doubtful, just curious.

Anyone know what this is at the top of my watch? The red icon at the top? When I pull down it says no notifications?
