I have gmail and hotmail set up but gmail won't show new emails unless the app is open. I don't see a sync interval setting anywhere. Does the app allow push for gmail or is it a manual sync?

That's odd( Could you please contact our support team at helpspot@readdle.com? Need to take a closer look.

best regards,
Readdle Team

Thanks for the reply, and I'll check Spark out sometime soon. As for your "upsell", I put in my 3rd sentence that I already own some of your paid apps - 5 of them...

So you know a little bit about us and our products. Hope you'll enjoy Sprak. ;)

best regards,

Sounds interesting. I like to test new versions/apps. Nearly all my Mac apps are beta versions. But I have no iPad and at the moment I am not good in giving feedbacks and also use the iPhone very rarely. So I don't want to take someones place, if those versions are limited.

Actually Spark for Mac is not in beta at the moment. We'll announce it as soon as we're ready!

Have a nice weekend:)

I also send an e-mail to become part of the beta testers for the iPad version of Spark.
I really like Spark on my iPhone.

Although sometimes i get an odd message when i open up a new e-mail that it says that the e-mail was already removed. How come i still see it as 'new' e-mail on my phone why having a fast WIFI connection and running the latest iOS9.1 on my 5s?

Hello,

Could you please turn On Verbose logging in Spark Settings and send as feedback as soon as this message appear again? We need to take a deeper look to this situation.

Thank you.

I really love Spark in comparison to all other e-mail apps. I've tested out quite a few on my iPhone.

I do hope to see some improvements in a future app update in regards to:

1) Please arrange that background app refresh doesn't need to be enabled to display badge icon (e.g. unread e-mails).

2) Since a recent app update (i'm using the official latest version of Spark) when i try to share a link via e.g. Safari and send it to my e-mail by selecting the Spark icon and sending it via Spark it takes ages before it sends it. A loading icon from Sparks takes much more time to finally send the e-mail. No attachments or whatsover.

3) Save multiple attachments to a certain cloud storage (we can already attach multiple files which is excellent!)

4) Support other languages (e.g. Dutch)

5) iPad support - (soon in Beta I hope)

6) Calendar - list view option

I hope you can do something about these things in a future version.

Well I'm a convert. I'm quite picky when it comes to my email app and always feel like I'm missing a feature in favor of another in all the ones I've tried. Spark is fantastic and meets all my needs. For some reason, many of the email apps don't seem to be able to add contacts to the iOS address book. THANK YOU FOR HAVING THIS!! It seems like a no-brainer feature but neither CloudMagic or Boxer Pro can do this. Also, alias support is much appreciated. I know not many people need it but I do for my personal domains and many apps lack in this.

I like ease of switching between the Smart & regular inbox, smart filers, etc. I do wish the email accounts were nested inside the Inbox folder so that you can expand or collapse from there.

I've just sent an email to join Early Access and look forward to the iPad app. I purchased Printer Pro & Calendars 5 in the past so I know your team does good work.

@Readdlemate
Why does Spark requires background app refresh to be On for badge app icon to work? In Notifications it lets you set badge app icon but doesn't actually display it until it's also set On in Spark Settings which forces BAR.
It would be nice to see badge icon for new/unread emails without BAR.

Was this ever addressed? I found this to be an issue as well. I went back to the Gmail app for now. I do like the spark app, but I want it to push gmail without having to open the app

Spark still doesn't show a badge icon with new e-mails if that is what you are asking (at least not with background app refresh turned off although this can be done with various other apps like Outlook, CloudMagic among others). See also my comparison in this topic of all kind of other alternative e-mail apps and a lot of major features that they offer or not.

Nice... that's a comprehensive list of email apps with features comparison. Thanks for sharing.
One suggestion - to move that thread under iOS Apps instead of iOS8 section, itherwise many will miss it.

I don't know if I can move it to the iOS Apps area. I did notice another topic which was created today in the iOS App area about e-mails apps. I replied to that topic by referring to my existing wiki topic.
