IE11 is already fast enough so I hope they work on making it more correct and stable.

It certainly sounds like they're moving on to a different browser. I'm not sure if they're killing IE off, or making one that works along side IE. Either way I'd say they're dedicating more resources to developing the new browser so IE won't get too much love.

From my understanding the new browser will be able to run both the Spartan rendering engine and the Trident rendering engine. Not sure if they will keep the IE branding, though to be honest it would be a good start for them to drop it. Folks still believe IE sucks, when that hasn't been (entirely) true since like IE10. Most sites just fall back to IE6 mode when they see IE at all.

Agreed, from a branding perspective, it makes more sense to roll out something that appears faster, more stable less prone to malware.

It can be light speed but it's still IE, no matter what they call it. It'll always be the browser used to download Firefox.

That and the fact that a) it's not cross platform and b) Microsoft screwed themselves by releasing that travesty that is Windows 7 and 8 and nobody really cares about them anymore.

Or Chrome or, perhaps, a lot of people doesn't download anything and use IE

Apart that Windows 8.1 is a superb OS, really? Nobody cares? In which world?

Said nobody ever.

People don't care about Windows - it comes installed when you buy a PC, sure, but nobody is clamouring for "the next big thing" from Microsoft. They're a shell of their former self.

So no arguments here apart of a bad intent of starting a flame bait

According to the rumors, they're all but killing it off. IE will come alongside Spartan in Windows 10, but only for compatibility purposes. It might receive the occasional security update for enterprise customers, but the goal seems to be to eventually depreciate it entirely.

You're so wrong. Please stop spreading misinformation.

Keep grasping at straws trying to make Microsoft relevant in the 2015.

Really. Just stop.

Interesting, but I would probably just continue using Chrome primarily

Even on my 8.1 box, I still use Chrome.

Yes, you're right.. Windows 8 was universally praised and loved and nobody every criticised it.

If you bothered to read the thread, you'd see that I explained it already. Windows 8.1 wasn't received very well because it came with a learning curve courtesy of Metro. But software-wise, it's way faster and more stable than its predecessor, which had already set the bar for stability and speed. I can't say the same for Apple's latest OS, now, can I?

Keep arguing that sales have anything to do with quality of a product.

Looking his comments in other threads, it is better don't waste the time

Yeah this whole "Micro$oft Windoze" mentality these people are stuck in is so outdated. Typical brand loyalists who haven't had a reality check in a long time.
