Cool! Any other stories? (not sarcastic). I saw a show once about this stuff and apparently they put lipstick on strawberries in commercials, lol.

And to the OP - GOOD EYE!

The photographers that shoot food shots for like Haagen Dazs will have plain ice cream in a bowl, then the tricky part...The photographer cuts the pint in half, the using a wide scoop, scrapes just a thin layer to lay over the other ice cream. They will go through as many as ten pints, if not more, just to get the perfect looking scoop. Then they place small 'pieces' of ice cream to cover up the empty spots, and take the picture.

Its a very cool and labor intensive process. Of course i can't seem to find a picture of them doing it. But I saw this on a Food Network show where people created their own flavors. Pretty cool show:D

Yeh, I saw a show on that stuff too. Like in cereal ads they'll sift through as many as 10 boxes of cereal just to get enough "nice" looking flakes to make 1 bowl of cereal for the shoot. Then they'll use Elmer's glue for milk. So that perfect looking drop of milk hanging off the spoon is really glue!

Also, in shots that requires hot chocolate, of coffee, etc, they'll squirt dish soap into it and mix it up a bit to get the bubbles on top. That way it has a nice "fresh" look.

i think it might just be the angle. In the guided tour on the apple website for the macbook air at a certain angle its almost impossible to see though at some you can pick out the spec
